Additional ‘inFamous: Second Son’ European collector’s edition images revealed

The French branch of Amazon has revealed several new images for the European collector’s edition of the upcoming PS4 exclusive video game, “inFamous: Second Son.” According to a listing update from theshopping website on Dec. 16, the packaging for the bundle (as well as another image featuring the contents) was shown off.

The European collector’s edition features a distinctive game case based of Delsin’s jacket. The other physical extras include a bottle opener, collectible coin, replica beanie and a few badges. Customers will also receive Cole’s Legacy Legendary Vest for use in the open-world action-adventure video game. You can check out the new images of the special bundle, as well as some screenshots from the latest installment from the “inFamous” series, in the slideshow to the left of this article.

“inFamous: Second Son” features a new main character with the aforesaid Delsin. The rebellious young man has the ability to use neon, smoke and other superpowers. An exclusive DLC bonus will explain what happened to the previous protagonist, Cole, as well as showing the events that are going to lead into the plot for the forthcoming title.

Sony Computer Entertainment will be releasing “inFamous: Second Son” for Europe and North America on March 21. The software product is currently in development at Sucker Punch Productions, the same studio responsible for the previous installments in the series.

The Powers of inFAMOUS Second Son: Smoke vs. Neon

Sure when you play inFAMOUS Second Son, you're going to "enjoy your power." But which one are you going to enjoy the most?

Delsin absorbs the ability to control Smoke in his hometown, and then goes to Seattle to find more conduits and gain their powers, starting with Neon. These power sources have different strengths and weaknesses, requiring you to change up your tactics. This has led to an ongoing debate on the design team about which power is actually the best.

Darren Bridges (Power Designer): Ok, is this really a debate? Smoke is the clear winner. There's nothing better than dashing in and choke-slamming some DUP stooge, then firing a Cinder Blast that destroys the tower his buddies are standing on.

Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer): Sure, if you want to get your hands dirty, Smoke is great. But Neon is clean and streamlined. You're basically firing lasers out of your hands, so your're a natural sniper. With Neon, combat is all about precision from a distance. Each shot hits hard, especially if you're targeting the enemy's weak points. Neon lets you dissect a squad of Dupes like a glowing purple surgeon.

Darren: Sniping is cool, but Smoke lets you travel through air vents and launch yourself out over the rooftops. It turns the entire city into your own personal playground. And smoke is everywhere -- if you run out, you just damage a car and get some more. That's like being able to punch a cow and make hamburgers fly out.

Jaime: Interesting metaphor... But who needs to go on a "vent hunt" when you can just run straight up a wall, instead?! Neon gets you where you want to go, fast. And enemies aren't going to be able to hit a streak of light. Plus, draining Neon looks cooler.

Darren: Orbital Drop [...mic drop]

Your lose. lol!! Killer Instinct, Dead Rising and even Powerstar Golf are all great games. The only thing I'm playing on PS4 is KZ:SF and ACIV. Already tired of KZ:SF. ACIV is great though. Where the hell is Rime & HellDivers? I would be a lot more satisfied if those had been released this year.

They aren't nearly as bad as Infamous. Infamous was worse than Assassin's Creed. AC2 did get much better, so maybe Infamous 2 did, too. I still need to go back and play that one.

I just play the single player of those games and then mess around with the multiplayer for a few hours before shelving the game for good. The online portion of most FPS out there is basically forgettable and boring, imo. I only buy FPS games with a solid single player campaign.

I just checked. Nothing noteworthy. Thief perhaps, but that's not saying much.

Guess I'll have to hold out with Don't Starve until SS arrives.

I bought Assassin's Creed because I like new IPs, the game looked amazing, and it was getting rave reviews everywhere. So, basically for the same reasons I bought Infamous. The game was awful, though. I only bought AC2 because it was $5 on Steam and a lot of people told me that it fixed a whole lot of the issues with AC. I actually owned the game nearly a year before I bothered to install and play it, lol, but it was pretty good.

Nex-gen started with Steel Diver on the 3DS lol. Deal with it.

1. Titanfall is destined for a 6 or 7. Graphics wont be up to par with Ghosts...(PS4), BF4...(PC,PS4) or KZSF graphically. Its running on the ancient Source engine which = automatic fail! Gameplay is CoD with Mech Killstreak rewards plus jet packs and wall running...Oooohhhhh! You do realize that this isn't going to be like a BF4 game where there are mechs littering the battle space riiight? They are called in, you have them for a time and they will be gone. TF isn't about you can be on foot or in a mech?

2. Not at all a system seller for Xbone as it will be on PC and 360. There will still be a major part of MS's gaming population that will not have switched over to Xbone yet and a $60 MP only game launching in March isn't going to do it either.

Meanwhile, Infamous Second Son will push the visuals bar even higher for what the PS4 is capable of. Unlike the massively overcrowded FPS genre, ISS will have the action/adventure genre all to them selves bewtween the PS4 and Xbone. Unlike Titanfall, ISS will help move PS4's as PS owners look to play more than FPS and racers!!! ISS gets an 8 minimum here at GS!!
