Japan: 260K first week
America: 750K first week
So a little over 1 million on its first week not including Europe.
Great for SMG but I doubt many games ever will match Halo 3 release.
The movie industry thinks that Halo 3 hurt the box office. o.O
Yeah, good for Nintendo.
I'm not a fan of the game though, because it's a kids game to me no matter what you say.
And yes there are flaws that I've found, least of which are:
- Silly story... actually wait I don't think there is a story.
- Dumb cut scenes
- Exact feel as SM64 (more nostalgia then I wanted)
- Bugged camera in places (screwed up auto-cam sometimes)
- Scarce and weak voice-over
- Too easy (I found, any way)
- Discombobulating gravity effects
There are probably more, but those are the ones I've found (I've played for about an hour).

Very true... Halo really shines at launch, but Galaxy will likely sell as many as Halo 3... maybe even more in its lifetime.
Yeah, good for Nintendo.

Give it more time. I'll adress your complaints:
You expect too much.
Again, high expectations. Stop placing Final Fantasy standards on Mario.
That's what makes it so great.
Doesn't last for too long.
Wouldn't the scarcity of the voices make up for their weakness?
Actually, I found it pretty challenging. Ying-yang.
They work pretty damn well. Hell, sometimes I'll play a level just to screw with the gravity system.
And you're....what, 15? 16, max? You couldn't possibly be a legal adult to be so insecure.Yeah, good for Nintendo.

Big deal, Assassin's Creed DID sell 1 million in its first week, and that doesn't seem to be available on a Nintendo console. :roll:Watch_Me_Xplode
Just like those big sellers R&C and Heavenly Sword.

Hey! Don't insult us 16 year olds.... even WE'RE not that insecure.

Ah, sorry about that. I wasn't trying to generalize. I wasn't saying that ALL 16 year olds were insecure - just that adults were not.[QUOTE="im_different"]people were betting mario would outsell halo3!!!!! lol!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!11111!!!111!!11SkullboyXMario doesn't have enough mindless fanboys to sell that much.
Neither does Halo. But Halo has one thing Nintendo doesn't: bratty, spoiled, suburban "ghetto" white teen ilk who have a strange fixation on genitals and screaming out obscenities via their headsets. Ugh, I think many gamers are willing to agree with me on the fact that these are the demographic that are destroying gaming, NOT the "casual" threat looming over the horizon.

Well I don't know, the amount of xbox 360's and Ps3's COMBINED is only a little more than the amount of Wii's. which is actually pretty pathetic.

Seriously man, the fact that you would take offence, directly and blindly insult me, really speaks agaisn't your maturity level. I'm not saying you are immature, but you really strike me as that kind of kid.
And to kill two birds with one stone:

Who said that I "took offense"? :| I also didn't "blindly insult you". You said that SMG was "kiddy" - which is a word that only pre-pubescents use. I still can't believe that people trust this sites after their ridiculous inaccuracy last week.
Only half of the games on the top 20 software sales?
200,000+ 360 Units?
Guitar Hero 3 on the 360 sales more then double then it did when there was only one week counted for it?

Yeah because everyone who bought the Wii is so mature and friendly when they are talking online...oh wait...

Yea, there is online, just no headset. It doesn't need one. I have yet to see a co-op version of Starcraft hit the Wii, so I see no reason for a headset.
Halo 3 made 3 times that in one day :|supermechakirby
good on em for there best game almost going 1 million in one whole week, considering that the Wii is the market leader and mario galaxy is their top game, im surprised it sold so badly by comparison to other great franchises

It sounds like most of your issues are with the story, which is kinda silly. It's a Mario game. Of course there isn't much of a story.
Besides that, I hear the beginning of the game is pretty easy, so it'll probably get more challenging as time passes.
[QUOTE="im_different"]people were betting mario would outsell halo3!!!!! lol!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!!11111!!!111!!11HarlockJC
they were not betting Mario would sell more opening day they were betting Mario will sell more over all. And it will
I don't believe it will.
Last week NPD showed that VGchartz was off by 100% (yes, the numbers were twice what they should have been) yet some still use that garbage and even try to defend it. Why do so many insist on looking like fools by using that garbage. We should all start using nexgenwars instead.:|pins_basic
Dude give it up, they won't listen.
