Nintendo, release an HD Wii... now!
Wow, those look beautiful. o.o
Usually I can't tell the difference between screenshots, but I can with these and the previous ones...
Can someone do a side-by-side?
It does not look that amazing, maybe if I was playing it. I hate grahics threads I never see what the big deal.
doesn't look much different to me, a few less jaggies, hardly something to release a new console over. you need high res textures and other graphical effects to make it worthwhile.Mckenna1845
You have to be kidding me :| There is a clear and obvious difference between these shots and what you find on the Wii today. For HDTV owners, I can certainly see plenty of demand for it. There is no need to replace the current product, just add an extra SKU.It does not look that amazing, maybe if I was playing it. I hate grahics threads I never see what the big deal.

Software upscaling? It doesn't work like that. You need a new console to do higher then 480p output. Regardless, what do you mean 'it's not worth it'... it's not like you have done cost analysis on this. Maybe you wouldn't want it, but others would? And regardless, this has nothing to do with 'mimicking the ps3/360'... that is just an aweful statement to make. What's really on your mind?It does not look that amazing, maybe if I was playing it. I hate grahics threads I never see what the big deal.

that's exactly what it's about if you aren't happy with the wii's graphics get a ps3/360, it doesn't look bad with a component. i'm sure it will be a financial success but they will be screwing over a 50million userbase if they suddenly did it. it wouldn't suprise me because they've done a similar thing with dsi with it's exclusive games.
i don't know what the wii gpu is capable of. the 360 originally didn't do 1080p until they added support for it on existing consoles.
Name one way it screws anyone over? It's not like they would halt support for the current Wii. Plus, if you want the HD version so bad... there is nothing stopping you from ebaying the old one, and buying the new one. The only people who will feel screwed are those who can't accept technology gets better over time. What's next? Complaining about price drops? The Wii's video controller cannot output HiDef resolutions. The 360's video card can. It needs new hardware.SquatsAreAwesom
if people want to pay for this after buyinga wii fair enough, i doubt i will though.
wait, won't this thing just upscale stuff, like a hdtv already does? i'm not sure how this stuff works, but unless your tv is cheap, a good tv will already upscale images to fit the screen? to take advantage of hd you will need the textures and stuff hd too?
if the wii does go hd wouldn't nintendo need to release a software update for all games, as the wii wouldn't be able to create native 1080p image from a 480p source.
nintendo wouldn't do this in a million years. wiihd = never will happen. they may aswell create a brand new nintendo console if they want to go that route.
why do sheepthink that bumping up the resolution will make a big difference? seriously, making Wii a HD console doesnt mean the games will start looking as good as 360/PS3
You realise this is illegal, right? It's very impressive, oh and enjoy your moderation :)Brainkiller05
Well, at least TC doesn't have a picture of the stupidest man on the music industry as his sig. :)

That's not how it works at all. Native is not the same as upscaled. The screenshots above are native. If they weren't, then there would be no point to this discussion. You're being overly presumptuous. Please Log In to post.
