Bioshock delivered, but not the GOTY performance it was expected to. There is absolutely nothing under the Sun that can compete with Galaxy this year... save for SSBB and possibly MP3.
Mass Effect and Halo 3 seem to be worthy contenders. Honestly if a Wii game gets GOTY I will laugh anytime anyone brings up a GS score again. I would hope that their reviews would be removed from Grankings.

There are still way too many good games coming out to say that. And if Galaxy or Prime3 is GOTY, good for Wii owners. Those are the only 2 good games on the system that came out this year.
Well, I think that is more of the fanboy talking then common sense. Considering how much you knwo about galaxy, and considering the MONSTER lineup for the 360 and pc, then I doubt it. It will probably end up getting forgotten about with all the other games flowing in. It looks like a good game, but I don't think it is going to be revolutionary or anything, just another mario game. Don't get me wrong, I love mario, but I think that there are games coming out that are going to blow it out of the water. This is going to be an interesting year though, and we won't know the outcome. I personally am voting for BIOSHOCK WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

are you kidding? Now I'm not saying that Galaxy won't be good, but I mean for gods sake are you going to completely ignore all of the 10s bioshock is getting?
I don't think we've seen enough reviews to really grasp what the scores mean now. I mean, under "the bad" all he listed was a few hiccups (after hours of play) and the fact that there's not a big penalty for death. Barely negatives.
I'd like to think that we'll get a surprise GOTY, as in a game that nobody expects. That would be great.

Mario is a hardcore game by all standards. Even more than that, it bridges the gap between the "casuals" and "hardcores," and this latest installment looks to bring together a third audience, the total "noobs."

Alright, if you want to bet that every other Wii game will get below an 8, I'll take it. That's basically what you're saying with that. Smash is a guaranteed8+, Battalion Wars has a great shot at being 8, Fire Emblem has a great shot at being 8, Geometry Wars has a decent shot at being 8, Zack & Wiki has an ok shot at being 8, et al. Oh, and Super Paper Mario and WarioWare are already 8.5+...

Are you serious? I mean, I don't necessarily think Galaxy is a lock for GOTY but it's certainly one of the contenders. ANY real gamer should be excited about the latest game that time and time again reinvents and perfects the platforming genre.
