Mario Galaxy isn't so Perfect sheep

Sure it's going to be a great game but a few things I noticed ticked me off from the opening video.

No Voice acting... What year do we live in again? I remember when Conkers Bad Fur Day on the N64 had incredible voice acting. To this day no Nintendo game has topped it. Mario doesn't have to talk but the characters around him should.

Boring been done before story. Blah blah blah.. Princess Peach is taken and you have to rescue her from bowzer. Why not change the darn story up for once? Not all of us have the minds of 12 year olds and want an interesting and compelling story.

other than those complaints.. game looks great

First of all, we don't know there's no voice acting. We haven't heard anyone talk yet other than toads. (Which are small characters so of course they don't)

Second, compelling story does not = Fun. I don't buy mario games to watch hour long cut scenes.

This is a mario platformerer..

I understand we shouldn't just excuse a lack of a solid story, or unique story.. however, it doesn't always need to be the selling point. Multiplayer games don't tend to have stories, yet people still love em(team fortress).

However, with that said, mario platformers do have charming characters, and you really do want to beat bowser, his henchmen and save the princess. The main platformers generaly do not have incredibly deep character development, or twists in turns in the story.. but it is charming thanks to the characters. Marios' "story" is generally about his adventure to rescue the princess.. it's not deep, but it's full of colour, adventure, fun and charm.

Finaly. You have no *** clue if mario galaxy is going to have the same story as always, or how much we'll see of its characters.

from the stand point of a guy who does not own a wii and does not know much about the game, If mario galaxy was considered a system seller and it was the game I was looking at to make the purchase from what ive seen it just does not have me interested, im sorry its kinda a lame post but im just telling it as it is for me if someone can post a clip with a crazy cool thing mario can do in the game that would make me want it then cool, but as of right now ive seen about 3 videos and I dont care about any of them.

p.s I like nintendo and mario its just im not really as into mario since he went 3d lol, im excited for SSBB though ill be at my friends playing that first day

Baldur's Gate1 and 2 had 2 minutes of cut scenes in addition to the intro, and they have great storylines. It doesn't have to be a jrpg to have a great story.

Pretty much evey story in videogames is Good vs. Evil.. we don't know the the story yet, but i'm sure there is going to be twists and turns, but of course in the end Mario has to save the day, much like 99% of games out there. As for voice acting... I don't know about you but Nintendo characters have some of the most annoying voices in history...do we really want them constantly talking and yelling and what not? Because Metroid + Multiplayer = Does not compute.

Unless they completely changed how the multiplayer played from the single player, it just doesn't work. Save your multiplayer for another game.

You can always trust Nintendo to do something right. When they feel Mario is in dire need of expressing himself through language, you will have it. Reading isn't bad. It gives the gamer a better understanding of the game.
