mario games died after the N64

let me set these basic rules for posting my thread.

UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES NO 10-13 yearolds because youre too young to remember the goodness of all the mario games that came out in the lifespan of the SNES to N64.

id say on the N64, mario 64 is the best, followed by paper mario 64, followed by smash bros, followed by mario party, followed by pokemon snap

Mario Party sucked back then and it does now.

There's no way you can honestly claim that it was better than SMG.

I didn't like mario 64 so to me he died on the snes. i do like the remake on DS though.

Each generation of Mario's feel totally different.

Actually Mario Galaxy is brilliant and the sequel will most likelly be at least as good. New Super Mario will probably be one of my favourite coop games this gen

Mario Party can be fun with enough people.

The fact that SMG took everything about SM64 and made it better mjust shows that you haven't played it, or haven't given it enough chance. Super MArio Sunshine is also quite good, and I have friends who can't put Mario Kart Wii down.

I've been gaming for ~24 years and the Mario franchise just keeps getting better. I can't wait for NSMBWii.

I used to think that until I played Galaxy. To me, it's really much better than Mario 64 ever was.

This. Look at things like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1,2, the God of War HD remakes, the recent SSFIIT HD remake. These are rehashes. Good ones for sure, but not true sequels.

mario has been way more diffrent then FF has,

apart from the story and the characters, they have simply added smal things.

but mario has changed alot since its old days

Hey TC, meet the highest rated metacritic console exclusive game this gen: Super Marios Galaxy, it has a higher rating than all the other Mario games at a nice 97.

No I completely disagree . I have played Super Mario Sunshine while not as good as Mario 64 it was a decent effort and Paper Mario 2 was awesome as well. Also many good games on the handhelds like the Mario and Luigi series,New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart DS.

Also in my opinion Super Mario Galaxy is better than Mario 64 it had such awesome levels and cool power ups. While not as revolutionary it was just a much more fun game and I can't wait for the sequel. Also New Super Mario Bros Wii shall rock to in my opnion.

Not Really, SMG is basically consider a good game and that means Mario isn't dead. Not to mention his ghames are critically acclaimed and sell by the millions. Also, Yoshi's Island >>>>>>>>>>> The rest of the Mario series and SMB3 > SMB and SMB2 by a wide margin.

There's this game called Super Mario Galaxy, have you heard of it? No? Didn't think so.

Super Mario Bros 3 I felt was 2D platforming at its finest in fact it's my all time favourite game. Also I think that a game that has a 97% average like Super Mario Galaxy has to be considered as one of the greatest games ever. So Mario has been good and he always shall be.
