the NES company really shit the bed here and gave MS a huge advantage. MS can now make a more powerful and user gamer friendly handheld and it's going to Sink Nintendo.

The new MS handheld running on Windows will not only play all Xbox games backwards and forwards as well as all PC and Steam games as well as all PS games released on PC.

And guess what Xbox an emulation monster is and with windows on the MS handheld you're literally going to be able to play Nintendo games also with great emulation.

Oh and yes Game Pass FTW dirt cheap.

@R4gn4r0k: Probably. But in all seriousness, Nintendo is overplaying their hand here. If MS could manage to get ans "XBoy" out next year for a reasonable price, they might have a shot at some of Nintendo's market share.

At the same time, less Switch 2s being sold on US soil means more Switch 2s for Europe and Japan.

Yeah, everyone keeps talking about buying other platforms to emulate Nintendo games, so there's clearly a massive demand for Nintendo's products even among non-Nintendo fans. There isn't the same demand for Microsoft's games, or the Xbox brand in general.

And I wouldn't mind if Nintendo pulls a 3DS on the Switch 2, even though I have one preordered. I was an early adopted of the 3DS too, and I remember they gave us a pile of exclusive virtual console games to compensate for the price drop.

Why not would this be the case you can literally emulate already on Xbox currently and it's even more then likely now with leaks suggesting Windows will be the OS.

Nintendo really screwed up here they did overplay their hand. Because now the Switch 2 is in the enthusiast price point realm, and this cancels out a lot of parents that would have been buying this for their screaming kids.

Now that the Switch 2 is in the enthusiast price point realm this is an advantage to MS because now MS can easily compete price wise and again handhelds at this price point are in the enthusiast territory and this will make the MS handheld seem far more attractive, especially with having Steam and all Xbox games and PS games from Steam and also the likelihood of easy emulation via the Windows OS which means even playing Nintendo games. It's win for MS here.

Heck, I bet MS is even discussing coming in at $399 now becuase MS was already said that they're likely taking a loss on selling the handheld but if they package in Game Pass and use Game Pass to make up some of the difference of loss with potential new subscribers buying the handheld MS could literally be considering now undercutting Nintendo with their launch cost.

MS will likely launch a 1st party S & X version handheld one cheaper one more expensive.

For me it's the game prices, not the Switch 2 unit price. The expensive Joy-Cons are an additional insult given both its price and the fact it's still going to use the shitty potentiometers, and let's face it, they'll probably be cheaper and die quicker than they did last gen. Anyhow, moot point, I wouldn't consider it with these stupid effing Trump tariffs happening.
