WTF! How can you even compare mario and halo, lmao Halo is the best series ever in my opinion.
*Puts on Flame Suit*
Lets go ****
Mario. The others I just don't see the appeal in.
GTA - You can do everything and anything, but none of it well.
Halo - A shooter that does nothing interesting. It's like the definition of status quo shooter.
MGS4 - takes it's poorly written story and dialog WAY to seriously.
Halo- One of my favorite fps games out there.
My second pick has to be the GTA series. GTA: SA is one of my favorite games in the GTA series.
I was a fan of MGS when I was younger, but after a while I lost interest. My favorite MGS game has to be MGS1.
Never been a fan of the Mario games even as a kid. As a kid I prefered playing games like SF2, Doom, Turtles in Space, MK2, Spider-Man Maximum Carnage on the SNES(my first console).
Super Mario Bros 1 2 and 3, Super Mario World 1 and 2, Marioland 1 2 and 3, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, NSMB, Yoshi's Island 2, and Super Mario Galaxy. Not a bad game in the bunch. Every single one is great.
oh Halo>MGS>GTA. I really dont see the long term apeal of GTA games. They get old after a few hours for me.
Mario. No other series of games has had such a consistent slate of amazing games.
Halo's a second rate FPS, MGS got way too convoluted and preachy after the first one, and GTA lost its sense of humour after Vice City.
Favorites are the Mario series and MGS series
Mario - been playing it since SMB1 to Wii galaxy and I've enjoyed every game in the main series. Ive also enjoyed the RPG series, Mariokart series, and some sports ones. Only ones I find disappointing are the Mario party ones but theyre alright if you have company.
MGS series - one of the first games I've been playing mainly for story apart from RPGs. I love the classic stealth action gameplay, the humor and cutscenes. There is a lot of character depth in the game for an action title.
Halo series is pretty good but I think it the excitement and enjoyment for the series peaked at Halo 1
GTA series is pretty good starting from GTA3. Since then, they've recycled the basic mission outlines over and over, game after game with variation here and there. Drive somewhere, kill someone or collect something... I was hoping for more missions like bank heist but I was disappointed when I finished and found that it was the best mission in the game.
You have lost all credibility in my mind. Doubt you care, just putting it out there.Halo>Mario>GTA>MGS
amazingly fun>past fun>mindless fun>fun movie
too_much_eslim
mario why because he found his way on to many genres , ,
i can only name the ones he hasnt been in on 2 fingers lol, thats sand box and fps /3ps
and any gta before 4 and after 3 ,
for obvious reasons,
mgs was ok , only played 1
and halo is good but theres a couple of better big fpses out there over the years ,
and now
those would include
the legendary doom /goldeneye
perfect dark 64 not zero lol
timesplitters 1 through 3 possibly 4
waiting on quantum of solace ill edit when i play it, i liked from russia with love but its 3rd person so it and halo cant compare,
to sum it up you cant really compare these games especally not with mario , hes been around for ages, and nintendo just knows gaming pure and simple
lets look why
in 1980s there was a crash , vdeo game crash , nintendo brought gamin back to stability
and theres no denying that nintendo can recover from a tight position
eg gc i wont say n64 bc saturn took that honor,
nintendo did somthing sega couldnt even do with 2 systems that is
regain the world wide sales leader with in less then a yr and a half ,, this is from 3rd to first ,,
microsoft pft, they had their shot , , we sony nintendo .adictionates or multiple (hard core gamer ) mean own play all 3) know one thing once microsoft gets on top they wont hold it , for long even with that 199 xbox it fell way short 3 hundred thousand plus short of nintendo wii ,, and 2.5 thousand units short of ds
lol,
so ya point is. nintendo knows about the market even when they make mistakes,
you cant predict nintendo ,
loads of people predicted nintendo to be the next sega , i bet they wet their pants when those wii and ds sales not to mention gba numbers where in also gc made em profit,
so ya,, another point proven , you cant call a whistle on any until it actually happens,
Mario. The others I just don't see the appeal in.

Have you even played them? Seriously, I'm a real film buff, and I think most video games have really bad and cheesy storylines. I generally dont care for them much. But, MGS3 is one of the only games, at least in the past few years, that has almost made me cry. I havent played MGS4 yet, but apparently theres a lot of emotion in that game as well. I can guarantee you that most of the posters on this board that have played the game feel the same way. This emotion cant possibly happen with poor story and dialogue.
BTW, my favorite series out of those is Mario. But MGS is in a close second, only because of the great story, I actually could care less for the gameplay in those games.

Super Mario 2 was weak. There is a reason for that too. Originally it was another game but the changed the sprites and slapped the Mario name on it to cash in. That's why it's so different from 1 and 3. And I can't decide on favourite series, Halo is last because I never played it, the rest I've played at least 3 in the series.

If you're a film buff you should know that there are a whole bunch of popular movies that many people love, that have horrendous scripts. MGS3 was a good story. MGS4 is in my opinion as well "poorly written story and dialog WAY to seriously." My brother honestly fell asleep during the ending. The gameplay and graphics are top notch though, so it's a shame.

Well, I guess I was just assuming MGS4 was even better seeing it scored a 10, and seeing so many people here call it the best game of the generation and one of the best of all time. Still, I really think the story in the MGS series is top notch, I dont find it boring at all, I find it hugely entertaining.
1. Mario(simple and fun)
2. MGS (Decent series but as a stealth game is not that good, Thief series >>>>>>>>>>> MGS series)
3. Halo (Its an ok FPS series, only ever play 1 and 2 but compared to other FPS games I think its pretty over rated)
4. GTA (I liked the first 2 on ps1 but after that I just got so boring)
This is just my opinion though.
