Mario vs.......Mario? (56k)

Ive had to exclude Mario 64 and SMS from the list as theyre not really part of a series. Remakes and collections dont count.

The beautiful thing about the Mario series (platformers) is that one is in no way superior to another. If you play Galaxy and then move to SMB2, it wont feel outdated or if your tired of one its, usually just that game and not the whole series in most cases. Anyway, use this thread to state your favourite series and rank them if possibe.

Although my favourite Mario game is Sunshine, the overall enjoyment i had from the 3 SML games is unrivaled. Countless nights spent sneaking into the corridor (for light) so i could finish those damn ship levels. My favourite being SML1, i greatly enjoyed 2 and 3. Wario was awesome.

You're forgetting all of the Mario & Luigi RPG's for GBA and DS.

Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island are the best for me. SMB3 was great too. And Sunshine is hated on too much.SaltyMeatballs

I agree sunshine is great, for the first half, but then imo it really stops being fun after like the 40 star mark. Still alot better than the NSMB and Mario Land games imo

No, I would choose SMB3 or SMW any day of the week. :P I don't know what it is but I never have the interest to play a 3D Mario game for long.

Super Mario World is part of the Bros. series.

It's refered to as Super Mario Bros. 4 in Japan.

Not really, the old games are way more accessible and faster paced than the Galaxy games. Entirely depends on the mood, I would play YI over SMG any day.

Different experiences I would say. SMW world is better than SMG1 imo but not SMG2.

Galaxy > Worlds >New=SMB

Sunshine had some fun missions. But those blue coins are such BS. A horrible game design decision right there.

I'd rank 64 and Sunshine below NSMB Wii.

Oh, and Yoshi's Island is the best 2D Mario game.
