Like the topic says Gamespot was very lenient with the score of this game. Bad frame rate, texture popping, frequent freezes and load screens, clunky combat, barren worlds, terrible driving controls and combat, overheating weapons in the middle of battle, poor leveling system,generic Star Wars rip-off characters.

I'm very dissapointed and was expecting greatness like KOTOR. This game could have definitely benefited from a long delay imo. What do you think of Mass Effect?

Lol have you even played the game yourself? whats your gamertag, Mass Effect is amazing. You sound like a cow who probably hasnt even played the game. "overheating weapons in the middle of battle", "Rip-ff star wars characters"????? give me a break.

It has a steady framerate, during some spots it does drop with texture pop ins though, same texture problem as gears of war, really not a big deal it happens for like 3 seconds.

Thank god for Gamefly I'm so glad I didn't fork over $65 for this game. Don't hate me for my opinions but I now know for sure I prefer JRPG's over WRPG's.

Your weapon overheats because you're not specialized enough in it yet. You need to pour some serious points into the columns before they become very powerful and stable and easy to use. It's an RPG, your weapons don't work well because you haven't put time into getting them to work well. For example, my Sniper Rifle was [mostly] useless until I really poured points into it and found an excellent rifle (the best I've found being the Spectre gear model.) The upgrades and mods you choose to put on your weapons will also have a drastic impact on their performances.

Leveling system had too much micro managing? WTH are you tealking about? Micro managing.... with the leveling system? How much time does it take to put 1 - 4 blocks into various columns after you level up (which is seldom, and very, very, very seldom once you hit level 50, it takes FOREVER to move from 55 to 60)? About three seconds, if that?

I don't even know what you're talking about with the cursor at the ceiling and then you're dead thing.

I ask because it doesn't seem like you've played very much of the game.

Only about six hours but it was enough time for me to tell I didn't like it. I'm sure if I was to sacrifice all my spare time I would have gotten more out of it but I just don't have the time to invest in it. Neoguru25

Six hours? Thats it? I was still in the citadel, before becoming a spectre at that time. You have not played enough to form a valid opinion.

Six hours? Dude, that's nothing.

I spent six hours in the citadel alone gathering / completingside quests and talking to everyone before even really getting into the meat of the game.

You weapons suck right now because you haven't taken the time to level up properly

Same with your armor and shields.

Because of your low level you're finding low level weapons / armor / upgrades / ammo mods.

To me, it sounds like you've played it so little you don't even have a real understanding of the controls, even. If you can't handle even the most basic combat in this game you just haven't played it enough.

An no, the game WON'T hold your hand - you actually have to figure manyof the nuances out yourself (and for people like me, that's a good thing.)

the overheating wont happen if u actually stop firing and wait a second...........

the leveling system isnt hard....

the combat isnt clunky...........

in my personal experience the lag only happen a few times and iv played through twice and texture popin takes like 2 seconds.........................................................

Much of those can easily be overlooked. Combat is fine. Level system is also fine. Generic Star Wars, not really, ripped from general Science Fiction Space theme.

Overheating weapons? How is it bad? Its part of the grand plan of the battles system.

Frames rate wasn't too bad, it came occasionally, the popins were ignored. A few seconds of wait, and bing all good again.

Barren worlds, yes. But hey nothing major.

Driving needs to be improved, but nothing too serious.

It was a great game with a few falses, that how I see it.

People forget that their is a combat/tactical element involved if you actually play on a solid difficuity. Allowing a gun to continuously shoot rapid burst is not fun and gets boring. He's also forgetting that their were upgrades to reduce the heat and that "spell" to allow rapid burst.

I think it's underrated by far. The game has a few flaws, but it more than makes up for them.Solid_Snake1221

Same here. It's much better than KotOR IMO.

Sounds like you didnt know how to play the game to well and then nitpicked some of its flaws which were barely noticable to me. The leveling is very much like Kotor, yet it was confusing? The driving is simple and the driving combat is also very easy if your good with the mako. Most of the time I jump out of the mako and fight stuff for more exp anyways.

Most of the "The Bad" is also copied and pasted in threads, yetthey were things that never bothered me.

Things that did bother me were:

Ally AI pathing while following. (which 90% of this can be fixed by properly commanding your ally's)

Ally's getting stuck on objects(Which again can be totally fixed by not being lazy and properly commanding them)

Getting in and out of the Mako for battle can cause your Ally's to constant fire or they just dissapear.(You have to save and reload real quick or load into a new area)
