Mass Effect ad campaign begins...a commercial to rock the gaming world

yeah that was a pretty good ad, it showed the whole "good and bad" theme of mass effect. I can't think of any other way they could've done it

No. I was mainly posting in response to the first two responders, not really reading your post. Sorry if it seems I accused you. Just in general, people just bash Mass Effect when they dont understand the game in general.

But personally, I just dont understand how this doesnt set the mood for the game. Its just so epic. But to each his own.

Agreed, Blue Dragon's demo was a disaster but what could they show?

This ad will sell the game. This one alone, nevermind the fact that Bioware is talking a full Gears level ad campaign.

I don't think it does an RPG justice because you are basically just taking a look at the engine it runs on and you have no idea about story development, power development etc.

Keep watching for the director's cut trailer afterwards. Chespace (who is playing the game through right now on GAF) says it is all in-game, and he's seen many of those scenes.

This game is simply breathtaking and that ad is amazing. If a fanboy downs this game, they're desperate, plain and simple.BioShockOwnz

With most games, I like the ability to see how the game plays.

True, there is a bit more to an RPG that is difficult to get from a short demo. But Mass Effect seems to play differently than a lot of RPGs, so I think a chance to test out the battle system would be nice.

But I do agree with the points you make. It is very difficult to judge an RPG on just that.
