"BioWare's much-anticipated Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect has finally been pencilled in for release this September, months after the June/July arrival date previously expected.
The news comes from an official Microsoft event this morning, though no more details on the release were offered.
The September release puts Mass Effect in head-to-head competition with fellow first-party RPG Blue Dragon, which is also released that month. This might seem silly to you budding industry analysts, but it's probably just as beneficial for Microsoft to avoid the infamous Summer drought."
Just look at the flip side of this. BioWare have more time to flesh out the intersecting story arcs ard lead them all to their completion (look at KotOR II, i know its not BioWare but the point remains).
They can get that framerate locked in at least 30 fps, BioWare games have always had weak framerates, maybe they can fix this now.
The most obvious point I could bring up is the sheer size of the game and the fact that it was plainly obvious that with all the vehicle terrain action, there was probably a LOT of empty boring areas to go in this game. Previously I had been hoping that they would go back to the KotOR system and just make smaller, more detailed and interactive enviroments. Maybe with this delay, they'll be able to detail these envioments.

Were the graphics downgraded recently? The trailer (the original one at least) looked mighty impressive.

They werent, the environments have always looked bad
Well a delayed game is usually a better game unless they make some really stupid descisions in the last minute which i don't think BioWare will do, I don't really mind if a game is delayed at all Mass Effect is one of MS's big hitters it just better come out as a really good engaging game.
What this does, is basically guarantee that Halo 3 will be released in November. With Blue Dragon in September and GTAIV in October, this leaves THE big 360 game set for November. There had been some speculation that H3 would come out in September, but with ME coming out then, this basically squashes that idea.
the reason why there is a game drought, is because no one realeases good games in the summer or spring, i am willing to buy games during that time and i am sure lots of gamers are too.
Yeah..me too! This really disapoints me, it was going to be my summer game too. I know development is infinitly tricky, but now there are FAR TOO MANY GOOD GAMES COMING OUT IN Q4!!!And seriously? When it comes down to it, they aren't gonna be getting my business cause they can't compete with Halo 3 and GTA 4. I'm a student, sometimes one game is too much. jeez, this actually really annoys me.
