Two different reviewers for the games.But yeah this game is amazing. I'm finding it much more immersive.

I'm sure it is, but if you're trying to insinuate that that fact means is should be rated higher you are wrong. If KOTOR never existed, Mass Effect would probably have gotten at least a 9.5 because on top of all of it's great characteristics it would've had gameplay that was even more revolutionary, but KOTOR did exist and thus Mass Effect's impact is lessened. Not to mention that for their time, KOTOR from a technical standpoint was every bit as impressive as Mass Effect.

For example, Ocarina of Time is argued as being the greatest game of all time and even got the elusive 10 at gamespot, well Twilight Princess is better in every way, the story is better, the graphics are better, the combat is more refined, and yet scored lower. Why? For the same reason I described above.

dude how about the flaws in bioshock.. comeon Mass Effect is better than Bioshock with all the flaws... I just dont know what flaws...I only played for about 7 hours so Itmight occur..Im not huge fan of RPG but afterMass Effect and OblivionI kinda started liking it.. although Mass Effect really turned the point.. Some parts make me feel Proud with the awesome sound and all... Story and how its presented +the teamthingis also abig part why its better than Oblivion...

How many times did FF7 win GOTY in its year? How many times did KOTOR? And just to clarify, it was near unanimous in '03, collecting more GOTY's than you can count on both hands. You may personally not like KOTOR, but as far as the rest of THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY is concerned, it had far surpassed FF7.

I hated the enviroments and gameplay so much in KOTOR that it completely ruined the experiance.. Not even the story could save it for me..

So if mass effect is better then that, does that mean its great? I dunno..

I dunno whether to buy ME. I have never been a fan of Bioware's past RPGs (KOTORs and Jade Empire). Do u think if I get ME i will enjoy it or is it not for me?-Serpahim-

if you didnt like kotor and jade empire because of their combat,then mass effect should be your holy grail since you have more control over your characters.

I completely disagree with you. I don't believe any RPG can truly come close to KOTOR. Many people including myself still consider it to be one of the best games ever made, and it changed the face of the Star Wars franchise forever. Mass Effect is an original product, meaning it just can't attract the same fan base or dedication.

From what I've heard the game has many flaws, and it certainly doesn't sound like the AAA title that KOTOR is widely seen as being. I realise BioWare made both games and you might see that as an excuse to compare the two, but seriously they are on very different planes of relativity.

Are you serious? No really? :| You haven't even played the game and you're claming all that? First off, Mass Effect is basically a KOTOR improved. It's based around the same formula and ideas, except the difference is the combat, it's more real time and plays like a third person squad shooter. It's story is even better. Oh, and in case you forgot, KOTOR was also riddled with the same technical flaws (except with the texture pop in). It's Kotor's spiritual successor, so to speak, and they're definitely not "on very different planes of relativity" :roll:

All I have to say is that this Microsoft new IP is better than any PS3 or Wii new IP!

People have their dislikes and likes, but KOTOR did come out first and was one of the first games to do what mass effect did, with the innovative conversations and RPG action, but I personally like KOTOR better because of the fighting, the star warsreal feel of the light and dark sides, and bassically, the fact that KOTOR did it first.

BTW, Instead of ranting, next time give some evidence.

i think ME beats KOTOR but it still a good game, i still play it to this day.
