Mass Effect has better graphics then any PS3 game.

I've played many games on both systems and Mass Effect has hands down the best graphics out of any 360 games(Gears is a close second place) and way better the any PS3 game. PS3 wishes it could produce a game that was as graphically impressive as Mass Effect. From what I've seen, not even the Cows savior MGS4 can touch Mass Effect. Sorry, but if you've played Mass Effect you know what machine has the better graphics award in its court.Shenmue_Jehuty

True, but I think the character modeling in Mass effect is supirior to any other game ive seen. In some shots, shepard looks photorealistic.

What technical issues fakeboy... Ive played through the whole things with no hitches or problems. Mabye it has some small bugs in it but nothing noticable and all games have small bugs here and there.

Single digit framerates durring random battles for seemingly no reason and a absolutely horrid texture streaming system most certainly effect the games graphics.

any conversation with wrex in 1080p is amazing. the detail on him is just insane. the rest of the character models are amazing but not as amazing as the krogans. the only really amazing looking environment in the game is virmire

The texture loading rate can be slow at times but it doesn't take that long. Ive never encountered a slow in the fps with random battles, at least not the the extent you said, so I have no idea what your talking about with that one.. Also these issues dont even take away from the game itself so I dont know why ppl keep b******* about it other than to try and bash it.

the framerate does drop into the single digits you jsut arent noticing it. play a pc game where you can get the frames displayed in teh corner and see what 7 or 8 fps looks like. i loved the game (favorite this gen) on my 3rd playthrough but the framerate problems do exist

#1. I'm a lemming because I'm defending ME? I own both consoles, brother :)

#2. If you've played it, you'd know that while it's graphics aren't the "BEST EVAR!!"...they're still better than 90% of the game's released this gen.

I've played all the big titles and the only games to top ME have been Gears, Uncharted, R&C, and UT3....out of hundreds of games released thus far.

Mass Effect =/= Mediocre.

I wouldn't say that. I have it and I think it looks really good, I'm the kind of person who can sort of excuse some technical problems, but I wouldn't say it's the console graphics king. Although a lot of the character models look great, and some of the environments look great (the driving sequences in Noveria and Therum, for example), some of the enemy character models are way less than stellar (the Geth Ghosts, for example). Also, although the game has good looking still water (like the lake in The Citadel), moving water (like fountain jets and splashes) doesn't look to good.

Overall, despite it's numerous technical flaws such as texture loading times, I think it's a pretty good looking game. However, Unreal Tournament 3 and Uncharted both look better than it. I think it's about on par with Gears.

Also, on a note completely unrelated to anything else, I think that the Hanar are awesome and I amsomewhat disappointed on how the graphics don't really convey their awesome jello-ness look very well.

Even near the end where I was taking on 20-30 geth + a dropship + four turrets constantly bombarding me...smooth sailing.

I did notice mega texture pop-in when entering new areas though...

It would be such an easy fix if they'd just release a patch that lets us use the HDD for texture loading :(

I realize that not every1 has an HDD but if you're on XBL and able to download a patch...what're the odds that you don't have a bloody hard-drive????

then you're just not noticing it. you dont have a magic 360 that plays it at 30-60 fps. the framerate drop happens you just arent seeing it. its alright i love the game im not here to bash it

Kaidan looks pretty frickin realistic too. The conversations were amazing, the faces moved so realistically. Uncharted was amazing looking to me for a little while then I just got over it unlike ME character models.

Agreed... ME's graphics are serviceable, not spectacular... Uncharted's graphics alone look miles better... on any tv

I don't really understand what all the hype is either, there's texture pop ins (not anywhere near as bad as ME though) some textures like on trees are super blurry and It's just not wowing me like so many people said it would.
