I have had sky-high expectations for mass effect, and I am still hoping it will succeed. The graphics, however, are not as good as I thought they would be, and the combat looks a little clutchy. I'm sure the story would be amazing, but I don't know if it can make up for the frame-rate and problems I've been hearing lately.

So you're one of those gamers who ignores all the awesomeness because of occasional frame rate dips? :|

It looks good enough for me. Remember that gameplay takes a game across the edge, not the graphics. That's how a 640p game (although it officially doesn't exist) is now one of the greatest games around.

Isn't it amazing how nit-picky people in SW have become?

I've actually played Mass Effect at last.Yes I'm very impressed , The game definitely deserves 9.5+ It is very close to perfect. Just some Frame rate problems (Not everywhere first levels are very smooth)

no, I can ignore the frame-rate as long as it doesn't get too low. I'm still gonna' get the game for sure. I'm just hoping the combat is fun.

im about 10 hours in now, the framerate isnt an issue, it chugs once in a while, but it never effects gameplay. The graphics are really good, but not amazing. Personally, I love the combat system, and the story is indeed amazing. Go buy it.

It's going to be amazing if they ever port it to PC. With a stable frame rate and v-sync it would be the next best looking game out there after Crysis. The game itself is amazing and these graphical issues are about the only thing I don't like about it.

Play it, it's awesome, the graphics are awesome. Although, if you onlu judge an RPG on how good it looks then you shouldnt be playing them.

Most complaints are minor. Pop-in issues (UE3-related), squad AI sometimes being dumb, minor framerate drops during bigger battles; however, it's being hailed as one of the best stories (if not the best) in gaming history, with fantastic audio, and a truly immersive world. I'll take some minor issues for what I'm getting... it's usually the trade you make when buying a Bioware RPG.

*Thinks of Gears* And the sad truth is, that will probably happen. Oh well, I am just happy we got it at all :) If the PC gets it great for them! Then they too can enjoy the awesomeness (Same for PS3 owners)

But the slowdown is only very occasional and the texture pop in only lasts a few seconds...

Luckily for 360 owners, we're playing it *NOW*.

Awesome game :D

I could understand if it was a constant thing and a big problem but from what I hear it's not. People need to just chill and enjoy the game

Is there a game that has come out that hasnt been reamed to death? I mean comeon people. For the love of GOD quit complaining and disecting every dang game that comes out. Just play the games and quit critiquing so dang much!!!

If I complained about every single game that comes out like most people seem to do...I would never game again...

Ok.

Now, for any Mass Effect Aficionados out there I got a question. I read in the Mass Effect BioWare forums that they decided slowy popping in textures instead of frequent loading times. What are your thoughts about that?
