http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/bioware-considering-mass-effect-for-ds

"BioWare's Miles Holmes has said that the developer is looking at possibly bringing Mass Effect, Jade Empire and Dragon Age titles to the Nintendo DS, according to Eurogamer.de.

The lead designer of the upcoming DS RPG Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood described the title as an effort to get BioWare's handheld division off the ground. He explained that the developer would consider making more DS titles to support its console games, saying: "Basically anything that reinforces the franchises".

"We have a lot of big plans for Mass Effect. Having a DS version would be an awesome way to keep interest alive and keep it going in addition to the next one [Mass Effect 2]," said Holmes.

Holmes commented he would personally like to see a Mass Effect title on the DS: "I tell you which one I would want. I want the Mass Effect one".

The DS is now not only getting tons of great JRPGs, but now WRPGs as well. What a great system!

If the Wii was half what the DS is, the Wii would easily dethrone the PS2 as the greatest console ever.

Especially if future Mass Effect games for 360 and PC get affected by this in a negative way :(

EA... I wonder if they are the ones responsible for this. Next month BioWare will probably annouce Mass Effect Beach Party for the Wii.

I remember reading on the offical Mass Effect Board that he mis-spoke, and there is no plans on making Mass Effect on the DS.

EDIT: Here is what Chris Priestly said

"Sorry folks this was just a small misunderstanding. Miles did indeed express his interest in working on Mass Effect, but not that Mass Effect was being made for the DS.

It was more of a "I'd like to work on ME someday" the way I might say "I'd love to visit Kuala Lumpur someday". No biggie, just kind of misquoted."

Mass Effect on DS could be good. It'd be a much smaller game, but I have faith in Bio-Ware. They have never let me down on a console game. I think the PSP would be better in terms of power, but the DS give you a much better interface for how ME plays.

It would be a curious thing to do.

Crytek: Crysis 2 will be a Wii exclusive.

Crysis PC fans: WHAT?!?

Crytek: Huh? Oh sorry, I mis-spoke. Please ignore what I just said.

Lol, just kidding :P

I'm entirely convinced Bioware enjoys messing with people. There's a pretty decent chance the purpose of Sonic Dark Brotherhood was to poke fun at SEGA.

That doesn't sould good it would't even work on the PSP. BioWare keep those titles on home console and PC.

I thought it was part shooter or something? Idk, I don't really follow WRPGS. I don't see how that would be any good on DS.

AHUGECAT

It can't because PS2 = PS1 as well. PS1 = Greatest games ever.

Really now... this is just utterly moronic. I own a DS and love Mass Effect but at least I can understand that a game like this could only decrease my interest in the series. You know what would keep my interest up for the second one BioWare? More novels and downloadable content.
