Mass Effect Vs Metal gear solid

It's not fair, because I'm biased against MGS. But, for gameplay, not story.

Also, there has been a lot more MGS story.

uh, what exactly do we have to discuss, MGS and Mass Effect are two totally different game genres

but for the sake of the thread i would say mass effect. Metal gear solid 2 was very confusing, and the fact that i was forced to play as girly looking raiden made it even worse...

Of course. It took me several play throughs to get it. Then again I was a kid when I played the first two, which were the most complex imo.

Well why did R&C get a 7.5?Uncharted 8?OPINION. Just because its ona well known website, doesn't make it valid. Thats why you need to find other reviews to balance it out.

well, its not for people who won't give it a chance. I mean i understood mgs2 the first time through. maybe others didnt understand it because they skipped the cutscenes and they blame the game when they don't understand. And how can you compare multiple games' worth of story to just one game's worth of story? and you had to pick MGS, the game many people are going to play a ps3 for?

In your defense MGS1 the game with the best story in the franchise is also an 8.5 game, but far more revolutionary than anything that Bioware could produce.
But you probably didn't get MGS2 because you were a youngster, character development was there and fairly deep, there was a message in the location, the characters, in the S3 simluation everything had a meaning. I know you felt a certain way when the screen went small and you were playing in a small box that was shown when the game is over. MGS2 is a clasic.

i havent voted as i havent played ME yet.

but im not a big fan of the MGS stories to be honest. well....MGS2 just put me right off. MGS1 had a fantastic story that was well told. the overall story was great, the characters were fantastic and the writing was absolutely brilliant. in comparison, MGS2 felt like a badly written soap imho....and it seems to be getting worse :S.

JUST THE STORY LINE.. its not like MGS doesn't have sci-fi elements, and its not like Mass Effect doesn't have strong character development.
