2 1/2 or 3 depend on if the 60gb PS3's are still there. But I wouldn't see the point of buying a 360 without a HDD. So many things would be missed. The $299 Premium would be excellent though.Ibacai

This could be a real blow for the Playstation 3. Still, the system lacks reliability and I'm not so certain if buying a system with a 33% fail rate is a good idea at any time. I've got lucky with mine so far....

yeah. no fiction here. It took M$4 weeks and 4 days to get my roomates 360 back to him. all they did for him was throw him 800 M$ points for the trouble, meanwhile he misses the Halo 3 beta. and you should actually add another9 daysto that becasue thats how long it took for him to get the coffin in the mailto send it back to them in.

i had one of my 360's go and it took 7 days overall. I didnt play my PS3 once for the time my 360 was out because um no great games like Forza II on PS3....

I'll certainly get one if those are the new 65nm versions. Still not worth the high risk of failure. Definitely not moving support to 360 by any means.

True, but how many gamers on these boards insist they are not interested in anything online related. Of course most of them are just stubborn not to pay for online, but there are many gamers who just want to grab a game, enjoy its SP adventure and move on (just like the good ole days before online console gaming). This is sumthin the casual market will just eat up if MS does the price drop correctly.

Yeah but little johny wants a PS3,360 at 199.99 with memory kit it's 50.00 cheaper than the WII . If M$ does a 199.99 core it will be the end of the PS3. WII might drop it's price. 360 sales would go thru the roof. Don't discount the 299.99 premium also. How about wasting $600 on a console with no good exclusive games? Bought your 360 already? Warranty has you covered. Gonna buy a new 360? New chips and you still get a warranty. This whole failure rate is ridiculously blown out of proportion. Do the braindead cows forget the DRE epidemic the PS2 had? Oh, I don't remember Sony addressing that with a 3 year warranty, do you? Oh, and which console still won that gen sales wise?:roll:

instead of acting like a 4th grader and calling people names act like an adult. You have two posts that say the same thing about dre. dre wasn't as big as the 360 problems. Don't think that the 360 problem are alright just because the ps2 had a small hardware problem. Sony never had to spend billions just to get the ps2 fixed and never guaranteed the ps2 would break.

And exactly how is it over for the Wii? Contrary to many fanboys thoughts, the Wii is not only selling because of the price. It's because it offers a new and yes novel way of playing games. And I will be the first to agree that the game lineup isn't the best right now, but the people buying the Wii don't want to play Halo, Gears of War, Bioshock, or Mass Effect.

Yes the price drop will help sell systems, but it probably won't make a significant impact on Wii sales.

The Wii has captured the imagination of people and it is at the point where a large portion of the population is trying to get one. Just go ask your local retailers here in the US if they have any Wii's and how fast they sell. It is crazy.
