Master Chief could still be in Brawl, MS doesn't have a ton of problems with Nintendo (they let Rare develop for the DS) and Halo DS was in development, add in the recent delay and the MC could very well be in SSBB.

Microsoft doesn't mind helping Nintendo's handheld market, but putting M.C. into SSB would be aiding the X-Box's competition.
This might be the last SSB, Sakurai may not do another one. And if there is another, it won't be for a long time. Melee was out in 2001, that's 6 years ago, and Brawl's out in 2008.

... Umm Sonic isn't a console mascot neither is Snake. Konami doesnt have a mascot but Snake is the unofficial. Sonic is sega's mascot tho. Bungie dont own rights of Halo,MS still does

Either way, success for the Wii takes market share away from the X-Box brand (original and 360, and whatever they bring out next). Besides, Microsoft openly said that they considered Nintendo the biggest threat. If they help the D.S., Microsoft gets money from licensing. However, if they help the Wii, it takes away market-share.
This thread is full of fail. The rules for Third-Party characters include that the character must have appeared on a Nintendo console (Halo DS doesn't count), and MC is first-party, owned by MS. Plus, Master Chief doesn't belong in a game like Smash. I think he's a bit mature.
To add to my argument (in a roundabout manner), I present you with an extremely true quote from the Brawl boards: "If Microsoft made a game with their mascots (which aren't nearly as recognizable or numerous as Nintendo's) it would have to be an FPS, and everyone would just pick Master Chief, so it would essentially be the same as Halo."

Considering Sakurai has already stated that he didn't plan on doing another Super Smash Bros. after Melee, it's doubtful he'll make another one after Brawl... so it's useless for us to anticipate characters for a game that may not ever be released.

Why are people obsessed /w Master Chief so much? He's such a bland character. There were far more interesting characters in Halo...why Master Chief? Oh..I forget, he's the main playable character....silly me. :roll: I'd rather see the Arbiter than MC in SSBB.
