Master Chief is a natural warrior, sure - 7 feet tall and a few hundred pounds on his back. Marcus Fenix? He was forged a warrior. He never used a giant armor that protected him from virtually anything -- all his wounds were to the flesh. He exhudes a protective coat of badassness, and that alone would protect him from Master Chief's.. size? 'Cause that's all he has, out of his armor and without his weapons.

Oh, I don't know about that one!

On the one hand, Chief is so badass, and stoic, and incorrigible, what with his gung-ho, "no matter what the cost" attitude and his sweeping romantic relationship with a computer program and/or various weapons and vehicular orifices.

On the other hand, Drake is such an everyman, despite murdering hundreds of people and making extravagant love to gorgeous women every night atop piles of treasure before the fading light of Mongolian sunsets, etc; I identify with him so well, given that I'm supposed to.
