Matt Cassamasina, IGN editor for Wii writes in his blog:

"There are some potentially crazy-awesome games coming down the pipeline for Wii, by the way. You guys have no idea. I know that's vague -- has to be, but I've seen some stuff that you simply have no idea even exists and frankly, if you did, you'd flip out. Comments like these have a way of backfiring on me and i'm sure some people will be annoyed that I've even brought up, since I'm unable to give even a hint about the projects in question. Others will undoubtedly say that I'm merely making crap up because there's no way anybody can disprove statements that are intentionally so unrevealing. But whatev. I know that if I was in your position, I'd be happy just to know that some very cool, unexpected stuff is brewing somewhere way behind-the-scenes. I swear, when this stuff finally shows up, I'll let you know that I blogged about it way back when. In the meantime, this is probably good material for the IGN Wii message boards.

Next week should be fun. We've got some companies stopping by to show us some Wii games. We'll be announcing a new project or two during the week. Nothing earth-shattering-major, so don't hype yourselves up, but kind of neat all the same. And if we can ever actually play them, games like SSX will be reviewed. By the way, EA never announced its new Wii project, did it? That must be forthcoming, too."

So, a new game from EA and some awesome things to come in the future...

Doesn't he say this every 6 months or so? It seems kind of familiar.

Like it or not, he is privy to a fair amount of "insider info."

At least he's credible, especially since he is dating somebody from Nintendo. Nothing like getting the inside story within somebody's pants.

The Matt C./Perrin Kaplan rumor is just that, a rumor. Seriously, I can't wait to find out what game he's talking about. Something tells me the next 3 months will be big for 3rd party on the Wii.

Come on now, I'm not a blind man. I've seen the interviews and I can definitely see something going on there. I love Nintendo but if Matt is getting info with Perrin by playing naked wrestling, that's pretty rotten stuff there.

LOL!!!

Matt C is married and he has a little daughter.

He repeatedly told that back in 2005, because his wife was ready to give birth to their kid and he had to go abroad for a gaming event.

You make it sound like cheating is not possible.

Anyways, I'm just hoping it's not the case and I said it half seriously. However, if it is going on (And believe me, Perrin definitely digs Matt from what I see in the interviews), that's just dirty business there.

Wait, wait, you got it wrong.

He states that a lot of awesome games are being made for the Wii.

In the end he just adds that EA will anounce a new game.

So, we expect a lot of games to come and also an EA anouncement of a new game.

After working on the Wiimote a lot and porting there franchises to work on the Wiimote, I believe its time for EA to actually make something original on the Wii. Since the 360 and PS3 are getting Army of Two, I hope the wii project is something new and for everyone

Probably the most popular editor on IGN (his blog is the most widely viewed, I believe). As I said, he's privy to a fairly large amount of "insider information."

They're working on the Army of Two for the 360 and PS3!!! This game is not coming for the Wii but to make it up they are working something different on the Wii and it seems that it will not be an existing franchise.

Because Matt simply happens to have more insider information than most, especially with Nintendo systems.

As I read more through his blog, he isn't dating Perrin, he mentioned that he watched the movie 300 with his wife. And also that its not just EA showing off the new wii project but also various companies showing off there unique games. What could it be???

I'm going to play it safe and will not care what art style will it have. Whether its Cel-shading, Photo-Realistic, or a more cartoony look. I hope they are not party games.

Whatever. Sorry but maybe we think differently. If the guy is a reviewer or blogger or editor, bottom line is he makes his living off of opinions and speculation. That's fine, but just because he's a "respected editor in the game industry with insider info" doesn't make his words gospel. Quit acting you're the guys PR rep or something, all I said is I don't know him.

I'm done arguing this, it's silly.

It has nothing to do with the rumor and it has plenty to do with what we're implying, even if it's not true. Hell, you can imply certain things that are not true. I do it all the time with friends in a joking manner. Perhaps you should follow along?

I thought we went through this issue already. Do we really need to repeat it?

Man, your insanely stupid rumour is not true.

It has nothing to do with the rumor and it has plenty to do with what we're implying, even if it's not true. Hell, you can imply certain things that are not true. I do it all the time with friends in a joking manner. Perhaps you should follow along?

Perhaps you should learn to make sense.

I guess I'll spell it out for you since reading comprehension is not your strong suit: While we cannot prove the Matt/Perrin rumor being true, we are jokingly referencing it as the reason why Matt is getting the sort of information he does. That's what we mean by "Inside info."

Get it or do we need to start from ground zero and teach you the miracles of reading with such literary masterpieces like "The Cat in the Hat"?

I'm not gonna lie, that made me laugh. Nevertheless, you can't blame me, your explaination was poorly worded and as such, difficult to comprehend. Also, it never came off that you were joking around, seemed like you were trying to spread a fictitious rumour. That is all.

Okay, that's understandable, as long as we cut through the BS.

See? Kindness is fun. :)

[QUOTE="nyoroism"]Doesn't he say this every 6 months or so? It seems kind of familiar.Redmoonxl2

At least he's credible, especially since he is dating somebody from Nintendo. Nothing like getting the inside story within somebody's pants.

You do know he's a married man right?
