But games like Mario just can't have the depth of M rated games. It's a widely believed fact that for each gallon of blood and swear word in your game, it's worth atleast .5 more on the ratings. And nudity is a solid +3!

I'm actually curious if alot of the "mature only" gamers would play Mario if nothing changed in it except spurts of blood erupting from goombas and turtles when you stomp on them.

There is no problem when someone dislikes a game and gives a very reasonable argument as to why they can't get interested in it. The problem is when people (the so-called mature gamers) dismiss a game for being childish, colorful or without fountains of blood and strong lead male characters holding shotguns. It is even worse when said gamer hasn't even tried the game.
