Your not gonna get much for a used 360, I would keep it for the games you have (or will want) and get a PS3 also.
It varies. On the PS3 games can't implement whatever online interface they want, which means some are crap and some are nice. On the 360 everything is connected and uses the same gamertage, menus, etc. Teufelhuhn
basically what teuf said, all the major games from what I have played have very nice online, and its free, which is deffinetley nice in this economy right now honestly.
I decided to go ps3 after I got rrod and gears 2 multiplayer turned out to be a joke. Im selling the refurbished 360 after my xbl runs out.
My impression of the psn is the following:
-downloading patches, demos, movies is painfully slow.
-imo online gaming is superior on psn because they use dedicated servers for their big title games. Less lag, no host advantage.
-psn doesnt have party chat like xbl, but I like it because people cant use party chat to subvert the game mechanics (like when people are dead in gears 2 and telling their party members where the other team is hiding).
-not as many people use mics on the psn, but you dont get nearly as many little kids (in 4 months I think ive heard one pre-pubescent little kid)
-often times peoples mics sound like crap because they used some crappy bluetooth.
-renting movies is a rip off on the psn, I stream netflix from my pc to the ps3.
-I dont think the interface is as slick as the 360's
-its free.
In conclusion, I prefer the psn because its free and the dedicated servers. Those are the two big positives for me that outweigh all of the negatives.
I will however agree that the updates on psn are extremely slow, but it seems faster with a corded connection.I decided to go ps3 after I got rrod and gears 2 multiplayer turned out to be a joke. Im selling the refurbished 360 after my xbl runs out.

Your comment about annoying people on mics, the reason there are none is becuase theyre all in home 24/7 thats why i consoder home to be a success, it keeps the idiots of games :P[QUOTE="Mr_Ditters"]Your comment about annoying people on mics, the reason there are none is becuase theyre all in home 24/7 thats why i consoder home to be a success, it keeps the idiots of games :PI decided to go ps3 after I got rrod and gears 2 multiplayer turned out to be a joke. Haha Good point. Home is like a trap for little kids who love the sound of their own voice. Never thought of that.
I would say PSN is better for simply playing online, more dedicated servers and whatnot. But XBL has the edge in community and features, such as cross-game voice chat and invites. And the updates are slower on PSN as well. But as for downloads, it's equally fast in my experience. Oh, and there's no file size liimit on the PS Store like there is on the Marketplace. So you can download much bigger games if you want to.

I stay away from there, its just a place for little kids to virtually punch eachother whilst shouting out racial abuse... Its a hell hole, sony did a good job XDEven if you don't like the console I would recomend keeping it. That way if you ever do want to play it again, you won't have to buy it again. You won't get much for a used 360 anyways.
I keep every game and console I buy, no matter how bad or good.
From what I've heard many people who own a Playstation 3 just want to play games online. The big first party titles that do allow online play have dedicated servers if I understood right, plus it is free. When it comes to other media the Playstation Network is suffering from a identity crisis. Sure, you can download movies and what not. But it's no where near Xbox Live. One thing that might spark your interest with PSN is the PSP connectivity and the available PSOne titles which can be downloaded.
XBL is better
PSN is free.
XBL = bottled water
PSN = tap water. on a hot day either will hit the spot.
Actually XBL is like paying for tap water, since its all P2P, whic is why we used to get gears players whining about host advantage.Since I'm bored I'll add a few more things; XBL has Netflix (only in USA), Party Chat and demos for all XBLA games. PSN has Remote Play with the PSP, a web browser and also Home, if that really floats your goat.I would say PSN is better for simply playing online, more dedicated servers and whatnot. Since the 360 is the cheapest console to buy right now, I'm not sure how much you could sell it for to make profit. But you should go with this one rule when you buy a console already and that's to never sell it.
I wanted to and was on the verge on selling my PS3 for profit and just get a better standard blu ray player, but I'm glad I kept it. I don't have the launch PS3 skus so I don't have to worry about that YLOD problem and I have BC emulation on mine, so I'm good to go. I'm still planning on getting a better cheaper standard blu ray player though for the other room.
So in the end, the more gaming systems you have the more chances you'll have for great gaming experiences.
It's a trade off I think PS3 and X360 both offer features online that the other doesn't. PS3 for example has dedicated servers, support for bigger online games, internet browser, remote play, etc. X360 has more community features and cross game chat. Personally I think you'll be happy with PS3's online it's great for being free. Also Sony seems very responsive to adding features the community wants. EmperorSupreme
You meant SOME games have dedicated servers right? Just as the 360 has Some games with dedicated servers right?
everyone who switches to PS3..........2 more buy a 360 over PS3.
The NPD should back me up in a few hours :p.

Yes some, which games on X360 do. I can't think of any...It varies. On the PS3 games can't implement whatever online interface they want, which means some are crap and some are nice. TC, most games that lend themselves to online have them on PS3. Some of the games on Live that people say are "online" are merely online score sheets. The only current, major loss you get playing online on PS3 as opposed to the 360 is the cross chat. And that;s always a possibility in the future with an update. I too agree on the earlier post saying not to sell the 360. You may not get much back. Would be nice to have both. Be patient and save up.
