Where' the link my friend?
So the AC-PS3 bundle w/FFXIII Demo is right around the corner? I know it'll sell like hotcakes, but Sony should've captialized on this with a price cut.
I think $100 would be better although I know any price cut would be hard on Sony right now.How do you know that[QUOTE="SolidTy"]
Although Sony's PS3 won again, it could really do wonders with a $50 dollar price drop, still, it's really on a roll, it's been a good while.

[QUOTE="DumbDubya"]The hard drive is internal and is required.. People wouldn't know what the hell to do with itSony should consider dropping the price $100 and selling a seperate 80 GB harddrive and wireless adapter for $50 each.

Package a memory card with it aka flash drive.
What do mean they wouldn't know what to do? The harddrive installation is pretty simple on the PS3.

Win what?
Didn't get the memo? Sales winners change weekly with no summing total. oh and threads like http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26844621&tag=topics;title where you can mock sales then go somewhere else and praise your own :roll:The hard drive is internal and is required.. You know that. And I know that. You think the general public knows that? No way...How do you think companies like Dell get away with ripping people off with overpriced non upgradable, pre built PCs.. People like their stuff ready to go... It's a different story with the 360. The thing pops right on top like a memory card would. And there is only one model. One option.. Sony doesn't sell hard drives, you can use any laptop drive. People wouldnt know what to do[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]I think $100 would be better although I know any price cut would be hard on Sony right now.How do you know thatKnow what? That a price cut would hurt Sony? Well they are losing money already on each unit sold right?[QUOTE="SolidTy"]

How do you know thatKnow what? That a price cut would hurt Sony? Well they are losing money already on each unit sold right? Not necessarily.. Last January the cost to produce was $400 so they probably break even on the 80gb and probably make proffit on the 160gb bundle.. And the price to produce has probably gone down since then... Do you PC game.. If you do then you know how rapidly hardware prices reduce..[QUOTE="f50p90"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"] I think $100 would be better although I know any price cut would be hard on Sony right now.

Every time I suggest a price drop some Sony fan always jumps in and says Sony can't afford a price drop. Every single time.[QUOTE="f50p90"]How do you know thatf50p90
Thanks, that's really nice of you :)Congratulations, 360, you actually outsold the PS2 this week! :)

Sony doesn't sell hard drives, you can use any laptop drive. People wouldnt know what to doBut I'm saying Sony should. Sell a regular laptop harddrive with the PS3 name on it with some brief instructions for installation. Yeah, they should have thought about it making it easier to add a harddrive like a 360 but it's too late for that now. They can still repackage some western digital harddrives as their own and sell it a preimum price.
The main strategy being the can sell more PS3 consoles at the cheaper price. Consumers learn later they need to get all the overprice accessories. Wireless Adapter, Harddrive, 2nd controller, battery charger...etc... It's how Microsoft has managed to sell so many consoles. Oh look, a $199 consoles, but after several accessory additions it comes out to the same price as the PS3 at $399.
Nope not a PC gamer. Every time I suggest a price drop some Sony fan always jumps in and says Sony can't afford a price drop. Every single time.I'm not suggesting it's in their best interest right now. But they probably could.. Also, IBM developed a much cheaper 45 NM cell chip in Jan of 2008, but Sony hasn't implemented it yet. Reports are they will in the middle of the year. I think at the very least there will be a price drop then, and maybe even a smaller redesigned consoleBigboi500

Devs love to work with it, whether it be an install or even a cache... Peter M. even went out and said that he couldn't achieve everything he wanted in Fable 2 because not every 360 out there has a hard drive. I think a smaller redesign would do as much for the PS3 as the price drop would. A lot of people complain the PS3 and 360 are both too big[QUOTE="f50p90"]

What difference is a few measly thousand when the Wii is outselling the PS3 in NA by 500 k every month?
And why should we care what the sales are in Japan? Do we care about the sales in Austrailia or UK or Germany? Unless it's worldwide or NA sales I couldn't really give a damn. Japan is a small market compared to North America.

but, shouldn't the worldwide sales be the ONLY sales we look at tho....you know, to be fair. ;)
