Media Create Japan Sales Charts (August 22-28): One 3DS To Rule Them All

The latest sales charts from Japan came out, and the 3DS continues its thorough domination of the hardware sales charts, whereas Monster Hunter continues to win everything on the software side.

On the hardware side, things were expectedly bright for Nintendo, as the 3DS had a clear lead over anything else, while the PSP, and Wii suffered major drops, along with the 3DS. Last week's numbers are in parentheses.

EDIT: There was an error in the OP that said that the PS3 suffered a major drop too. Eurogamer is to blame for this, since they ascribed a sales drop to the PS3, and I just copied/pasted it here :P

going down to 60,000 isn't a success story. It means the handheld is still a disaster. During this period of time it was being outsold by ds without a price drop. You can't believe that this thing is going to sell near psp or ds at this rate. Selling incredibly bad.

From a value proposition the PS2 still beats out anything else on the market. There are an immense number of older games that are readily available for it at bargain prices.

your really doubting mario kart? the device is not unappealing obviously if its selling 60,000 in a week in japan.......your standards are being way too high right about now in the games will be out for the remaining of the year. they seem like in a pretty good position to me honestly
