Media Create Japan Sales Jan 9-15: PS Vita Is Dead (No, Really) Edition

It stopped being funny some time ago, but the Vita really isdead in Japan. The latest sales numbers are in, and every single system has experienced a dangerous dip in sales, but the PS Vita has now fallen to sub 20k levels- something that it took the 3DS five months to fall to, in less than four weeks.

On the software side, the PSP, Wii and 3DS predictably ruled the charts.

I guess we'll see next week how the US will recieve Vita.

Its not so much that the Vita is dead, but more so that no one is really interested in its games. That can change though if it gets games people actually want to play. Even if the Vita was priced much lower I dont think it would do any better with the current line up it has.

A lighter ToU, yes. No ToU (which is essentially what this amounts to now), which would lead to trolls overrunning the place altogether however?charizard1605

Anyway, nice to see the Vita sell pass 500k and i'm also surprised by Spiri Camera.

Seems like it's pretty obvious, 360 is a foreign console (An American one at that). It was always going to be an uphill battle to even get half decent recognition when your taking on both Nintendo and Sony in their backyard.

EDIT: Doesn't help when your 1st party presence is almost non-existant compared to Nintendo and Sony, essentially they have no reason to buy a 360 when most of the games on it can be played on a PC or on the PS3.
