Well despite the head start, and much larger install base, Zelda BotW beat Horison Zero Dawn in launch week sales in Japan. The Wii U version made it in the top 5 as well.

Looking pretty sweet.

Both games did great. Switch had a good start. Good stuff all around.

Why so few Zelda copies sold compared to the Switch?

Only 56% of Switch buyers bought Zelda, are the others playing 1 2 Switch and Bomberman? WTF?

I expected this. Zelda is massive and Horizon is a new IP. But getting second place is still impressive enough! Especially with a new console release.

It's actually quite impressive that a western new IP sold that much on Japan. Of course Zelda would win it easily though.

PS3 beats Wii60 once again.

Just glad both Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Horizon: Zero Dawn are doing fantastic as well as Nintendo Switch. These sales let me know the gaming community is alive and well and that's good enough for me :)

Horizon did surprisingly well. Was expecting a below 100k mark. Not bad, not bad.

There are zero variety on the Switch. Every single person who've bought the Switch is probably playing BotW. Same does not apply to the ps4, the console that been overloading people with quality 9/10 titles.

When you have no choice, you buy that 1 thing (botw in this case) available and tell yourself everything is fine.

They're called console launches... every console maker launches with a limited amount of titles since the dawn of time.

It's completely ridiculous to compare a 4 year old console to a launch. The install base, developer base, etc. is completely different. Hell, Sony just started hitting stride recently.

Dang, not only did Horizon flop there, but look at those PS Pro sales. Or should we say, lack of. Ouch.

? Wow, Horizon did very well! Still keeping pace with Zelda despite the fact it's a Western game and isn't a launch title! Sony and Nintendo will continue to dominate the gen with stellar titles and quality exclusives while Xbone continues to be a failure worldwide, poor lems.

Horizon will outsell zelda WW over lifetime. Horizon is amazing and so is Zelda. I own em both but NO CHANCE IN HELL I will support switch. Not until they update it with the switch 2.0.

Zelda sold out everywhere is why ... a lot of people either went the digital route or 3rd party seller route which i had to do because i didn't pre-order zelda thinking it would be in stock ... so nintendo doesn't see the sale of Zelda bought off a third party on amazon ... u couldn't even buy a cleaning cloth for switch its like the switch never even launched lol every single game sold out every single anything switch sold out ... i ain't never seen something like this in all my years of gaming ... nintendo switch hype isnt even a correct statement ... its crazy ... even a screen protector is back ordered

I could easily see zelda BOTW wiiu and switch combined reaching lifetime sales of like 5+ million. I think it will be close between both Horizon and Zelda BOTW.
