Mega-Man Creator Announces New Game for 3DS

Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has announced a new 2D action side-scroller for the 3DS eShop entitled Azure Striker Gunvolt.

As reported by Gematsu, Azure Striker Gunvolt was just announced at the BitSummit indie games festival in Kyoto. The game is set in an X-Men-like future where some people have super powers, but an all-powerful organisation called Sumeragi Group is tasked with oppressing these special folk. You play as a man named Gunvolt (yes, that's his actual name), who possesses lightning-based powers, and is on the run after failing to assassinate a psychic girl.

The premise sounds a lot like Sucker Punch's inFamous, but the action looks more like Mega Man. In fact, Inafune is collaborating with Mega Man Zero and ZX developer Inti Creates - who also worked on Mega Mans 9 and 10 - for this one.

I saw this offsite earlier, but it's looks radical.

Hopefully it releases on more than eshop, I stopped supporting Nintendo's online initiative after seeing how backwards their DRM is.

Poor guy, even said in an interview he isn't so he's just going to continue to get pressure put on him to meet insane standards. Which is odd because there were no such standards while he was still at Capcom (hi BN4.)

Those anime crap games usually aren't localized to western countries.

Mature games like Naughty Dog games. Getting real tired of the "I'm a super soldier destined to save the universe from something really bad" plots. How young and childish do you have to be to enjoy plots like that?

Seriously though, game looks fun. Hopefully it gets localized.

Capcom is a fantastic developer. Way better than Valve. They are responsible for some of the greatest games of all time. Everyone on System Wars is a bandwagoned PC gamer, and anything that doesn't fit the agenda is demonized.

And this game doesnt need a great plot because its main appeal is gameplay like mega man games, because you know, gameplay is in the first place what makes videogames unique. Im getting really tired of video games that focus more on being a movie than an actual game, like the last of us.

And by the way if you think of it, an actual mature person should care about the quality of the product itself and not whether its mature or not, people that really care about "maturity" are the very definition of insecure people.
