Megaton Pre-order Xboxone in full, get Killer Instinct FREE!

If you already subscribe to Live Gold and intend to purchase an Xbox One, your subscription will carry over on to the new console. However, Microsoft is trying to entice you to spend another $60 with a rather appealing Xbox One Live Gold offer. Weve already had the Xbox One Day One console pre-orders, but now they have been joined by a Day One Xbox Live Gold membership. It costs $59.99 when pre-ordered, and in return you get a 12 month subscription along with a couple of extra benefits. The first is a rather inconsequential commemorative Gold membership card, but the second is a free copy of Killer Instinct: Round One along with the exclusive character Shadow Jago.\ If you are set on buying an Xbox One then this deal makes a lot of sense. It costs the same as the standard Gold membership, includes a free game, and just extends any Live Gold membership you already have. It also means you are guaranteed to have a game to play as soon as your Xbox One is set up and after however many gigabytes of download Killer Instinct ends up being. Unlike the Day One console, it seems unlikely Microsoft will sell out of Live pre-orders unless it chooses to, but it is listed as a limited time offer. The only concern Microsoft may have is that if it proves extremely popular then the Live servers could grind to a halt on launch day as everyone tries to download their free copy of Killer Instinct.

Still, I have seen a few people saying that this Day One Live Gold comes with the Day One console for free. As far as I can see that's not the case. I should know I have them both pre ordered :cool:

when will these be available for pre-order, my live runs out in november so this is perfect, even if killer instinct winds up being ok its worth it, i like live and will renew my sub. When will these be available on amazon, thats where i pre-ordered my x one.

KI is FREE.. you get 1 FREE character to play with in whatever mode you want. Then you pay to unlock other characters if you want. THAT'S CALLED THE FREE TO PLAY MODEL, regardless of whether MS want to call it that or not.

Obviously the don't because they know it diminishes the game in a lot of peoples eyes. So they want to call it a "demo" instead. You're cute for sucking up all MS's BS and regurgitating it to the masses.

I'm so tempted to get an Xbox One solely for Killer Instinct. Just as I got an original Xbox and Xbox 360 solely for Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden 2 respectively.MightyMuna

The number one reason I am getting the XBOX ONE Day One Edition is because of Killer Instinct. There is NOTHING on PS4's launch lineup that even comes close. The best PS4 launch game is Assassins Creed IV which is multiplat anyways.

If it were a credit I could use for a downloadable game of my choosing I'd be all over this...but I already have a gold account and KI was always a second rate fighting game at best. No way I'm paying anything extra until after I've played it.HadOne2Many

Also, the full version isn't free to play as well since you have to buy all the characters and maybe more for Round One edition to take advantage of the game, and as for your example, Marvel Heroes is a full free to play game as it's not a demo at all with optional characters to buy.
