Many of those are not platformers. Contra is a run and gun SHMUP, Battletoads is a beat 'em up, Super Metroid is a 2D action/adventure game, and Double Dragon is also a beat em up series. That's simply an awful selection for platformers. savebattery

About half of those aren't platformers, Super Metroid isn't a series, and the entire list is Nintendo based.

donkey kong country is the best platforming series out of all those listed games imo.

Some of those aren't platformers. You should also change this to 2d platformers instead of just platformers. I would have switched some for maybe Megaman, Kirby and Prince of Persia (2d version).
