which is more legit?

I was a frequent user of Gamerankings before I started using Metacritic far more, both are great though.
Neither. I stopped using Gamerankings after their redesign, and moved onto Metacritic. Then Metacritic had to have their own redesign which just plain sucked, so I don't visit them now either. These days, I'll just visit IGN, Gamespot and GT directly if I wanted reviews.
I use both but prefer to use Metacritic due to the nicer layout and generally more reviews which presumably make it more accurate.
SW likes to use metacritic, but imo gamerankings is better because they don't include reviewers who are so bad they don't deserve to be listened to.
The game industry uses metacritic for the most part. On Steam, for instance, they list the Metacritic score next to games. Same for onlive. Seems like I read an article in GameInformer about most publishers going by metacritic scores also.
I've always used gamerankings, and for the majority of the time I've been here, that's what most people have used as well. As far as I'm concerned though, they're basically the same. Any descrepancies in scores between the two sites will typically be minute, so it's not like the vgchartz vs. NPD (and other regions) debate.
The problem with Gamerankings is they don't cap when a review can be put in. Look at Halo 3 a year after the game came out there is a review from VGChartz which gave Halo 3 it's lowest score. HarlockJCYou are trolling Sir! In all seriousness I stop the cutoff at a year or so after release now UNLESS is then releases in another region.
This is true. I like Metacritic better, but Gamerankings is now also providing games from past gens.Metacritic got rid of all the old games. Gamerankings.

So whatever GS thinks is better is automatically better? :|well gamespot uses gamerankings so.....i guess that one

I love MC because that idiot that runs GR is ...well an idiot! (Did I just say that out loud?)Dracula68Wait. Don't you run Gamerankings? lol...
I vote Gamerankings because I remember when they stripped out all the gamespot scores when Jeff left (and the resulting conspiracy theories and lulz that happened from it  )blue_hazy_basicThere was no "they" to blame as that was my error alone and obviously very bad timing of it to boot!
how did you end up running gamerankings? thats amazingMario1331Just started off submitting tons of user articles way back in 2001!
Metacritic for sure I use them for movies and TV shows as well...in fact Metacritic is like my 5th or 6th most visited site according to my chrome browser haha.
