No. When I have to sit through a 20-30 minute long conversation between our hero and his girlfriend about how he has his room arranged at home in the middle of a national crisis, I know that what I'm watching (re: not playing), can't possibly be the best game ever.

Seriously, Kojima's stories would be so much better if they didn't drag on so damn much, or if they didn't have plot-twists that didn't make any damn sense. C'mon now...Olga as the Ninja? I 'bout killed myself right there.

Anyhow, that game was good, but too much tlk, not enough action and is wasn't as good as MGS1, the greatest in the series by far.

Eh... didn't really care for the Raiden (probably spelt it incorrectly, don't really care) part. I get how it was the whole recreation of MGS 1 to turn out super-soldiers and all that, and the gameplay was fun, but I just did not care for Raiden at all. Would have much rather continued playing as Snake.SpaceMatt

I'm going to assume that it's great an all, but considering how many people consider it to be horrendously overrated, I doubt that it's the best game ever. >_>

Metal Gear Solid 2 was a good game. I like the fact that Solid Snake was somewhat of a mentor to Raiden. We got to see another side of Solid Snake.

MGS3 is the best.

theres tons of movies with better plotlines and characters than MGS, guess you have never seen a Hayao Miyazaki movie as he always delievers great plotlines, characters and very emotional scenes

I love MGS game but yes there is to much talking , like when I want to save my game and go out I dont want to sit and listen to the medic go on about some "B" movies I've seen before

Theres lots of movies with better plotlines and characters...but for a game, MGS2 is pretty much up there.

I think some of you who disliked MGS2 needs to look at it at another perspective. Maybe Kojima made Raiden just a "little girl" so you can see his massive improvment in MGS4. Do not forget what happened at the end of the game, Raiden was given a Katana and sucked with it.

MGS rox period, it´s cool to see people argueing on which one is the best, shows how good and unique each game is. I don´t know which one I like more, but 1 has a special place in my heart for introducing me to MGS, 2 was awesome but I don´t really remember the story very well, and 3 was a great game but don´t ask me why I played it on easy and that sort of ruined the game for me, didn´t really give me a challenge, lesson learned, don´t play games on easy.Eddie-Vedder

MGS1 fans luv that it was there first and has a great story and characters, more balanced out well than the other games

MGS2 fans could care less about the gameplay and are just amazed by the story

MGS3 fans are the ones who want more gameplay and want a "badass" character. And could care less about the story

too each there own but if you have seen the movies i have seen then you will see there are movies with better characters, plotlines etc

no, i liked the game but i want to play the game thank you.

i can run through the game in a few hours now(not including cutscenes.) the games have great stories but the gameplay isnt the best.

He made the story more accessible but it was a still a compelling mgs worthy story. Combine that with the gameplay that was far superior to the previous games and you have the best mgs ever made.

and if he was as good as Kubrick, Scorcese, Coppola he'd be making movies and not games

he's not so he has to make games

now dont get me wrong MGS are some of my fav games but they are not the end all be all

if so they would sell alot more copies than they do
