Haters gonna come in and call it a movie; been there done that. It's most likely gonna be a Multiplat anyways so so need to hate. Metal Gear Solid franchise have dominated every generation of console that it touched; ps1, ps2, ps3, and most likely will breathe new life into the ps4, nextbox. It will break the current repetitive cycle of FPS trends of today's gaming standards. Next Gen console titles will most likely launch with FPS's like COD, Halo...or 3rd person cover shooters like Geow4, UC4. That's when MGS 5 will breathe new life into gaming. Kojima already said that he have since learned from his mistakes of hour long cutscenes, so Haters have no other reasons to hate. AAAA status was well deserved, and now it might be bringing it's awesome sauce to multiple platforms so everyone wins no need to hate.

i wouldnt mind if it still had hour long cutscenes, i enjoyed being able to set the controller down while i smoke a cigarette and do my best snake impressions

Agreed. MGS is one of the greatest series and MGS4 is the best game this gen. Cant wait to play the next installment :).

I don't like agreeing with you, but you're right. Remember that MGS3 tacked on a weird multiplayer element just to compete with the demand that was generated by FPS popularity.
You know what ? I honestly don't really care. I'm a MGS fanboy and it's my favorite franchise but what Kojima did with MGS4's story is unacceptable. I have no intention of getting it unless it's a prequel to MGS3 with the boss being the main character or if it takes place between MGS1 and MGS2.
Gaming has mostly been all about shooters. The major problem is the saturation of shooters in the market. Insteadof 3 or 4 big shooters ina year there's 10 or so and each of them only have minor differences, or improvements or innovations that are barely noticable or noteworthy and then there's a whole new batch of games not long after that. There's no time to breath and take in any improvements that are being made.

love MGS4 movie cutscenes .. especially MKII dancing..... but iI hope MGS5 cutscenes will be more interactive or make it a little of heavy rain and UC2
I for one can't wait to see more girls cooking eggs, soda drinking monkeys, soldiers crapping their pants, moronic AI, atrocious "storytelling", incompetent editing, cutscenes that allow me to recharge my controller, and an overly complex and cumbersome interface. Bring it on Hideo! I hope he can outdo MGS4, it'd be a real hoot.
