I played both of those games a hell of a lot, though i played PD more. PD is my favourite FPS, and MGS is one of my favourite games of all time. Both of them are really special to me, but i think PD is better.
I love how most people are saying its a tough decision. MGS series is known and loved by most but Perfect Dark is my favourite game of all time so I have to go with that.
At the time I enjoyed PD more. Hypothetically though if games where still being made to the same quality as they where back then, I think I would enjoy MGS more now though.
Tony why are you even comparing two games that where made nearly a decade ago? How is it at all relevant to the system wars of today? Call me skeptical but you've been making a few threads comparing one game to one of the MGS games, anti Sony much? And that my friend is an ouuuutttraaaaaaaaggggggeee!!!!
Seeing how time skewers things, I'm going to state that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is better than Halo. ^___^

I think what it is is change in control. FPS control has changed a lot, but MGS, even though it has changed, it hasn't changed as much as FPS. So this COD 4 generation played PD, and, even though it offers more of a quality gameplay experience than COD 4, it feels unplayable to them.
Perfect Dark is a good game one of the few I enjoyed on the N64. But I';; pick MGS over PD it had a better plot, gameplay, characters while on the other hand PD offered sweet multiplaying.

Shooters age horribly. By todays standards it would get at best a 6.5.I think he meant if we had used this rating system back when it was first reviewed.
