It doesn't look bad at all, but it feels like it should have been another mode in mgs v. I won't be buying it that's for sure.
It honestly isn't that bad, at least not like I was expecting. Looks like it could be a lot of fun, especially with friends.
This should probably be treated and marketed as an expansion to MGSV because that's exactly what this looks like. Either that or a spin-off like Metal Gear AC!D. So long as we're still getting mainline Metal Gear games, I really don't mind.
Did the circle around the player not annoy the shit out of anyone else? Hopefully you can turn that crap off.
What if this was a weird Resident Evil spin-off? Looks like a good game just wished it didn't have the MGS name on it.

It doesn't look bad because it's reusing pretty much all the assets from MGSV. I mean shit, they're still using the standard fulton animation even though its all wormholes now.
Everything about this just looks super slapped together.
FU*K KONAMI, These **** heads were left with a Lamborghini and they've somehow managed to turn it into a lawn mover.
@JangoWuzHere: That's what I meant by another mode in mgs v. Most games re-use assets from previous titles.
This looks like the cheapest fucking cash in game I've ever seen lol. Everything is ripped straight from MGSV and slightly modified. Still that also means the gameplay is ripped from MGSV which is great. And MGSV could have really benefited from co-op. Now it's here (kinda).
So yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up this shameless game and having a good time with it.

Yeah, it's pretty fucking distracting. MGSV had customization options for all hud elements though and I ended up turning them all off. I'm sure it'll be the same in this game.
The whole different dimension plot sure makes more sense once I saw this. It allows Konami to reuse existing environments from MGSV.
Something like this should have been a DLC expansion. Because that's practically what it looks like anyways. Oh and the arrow shooting mechanics look garbage and boring. Don't get why they made the bow and arrow look so dope in the trailer. But the actual gameplay looks more like a kids beginner bow and arrow set.
It is a budget game.
To be fair as well, Activision, Ubisoft and even Valve reused assets and people seem to not give a shit and those are fully priced games.
Still, probably be rife with free2play microtransactions so fud dat sheet.

I could make more use of a lawn mower these days
Amazing what Konami can accomplish without Kojima there to weigh things down with exposition overkill. Konami must have kept the reins on him with MGSV. Seems like enough of his old team stuck around who know what they're doing. Looks like Kojima might have had a "who's coming with me" (but nobody came) Itagaki style of exit. Wonder if he'll be able to make it without his old team.

lol
not sure if serious.
Edit: On the off chance that you are.
Based on what they've shown so far this is literally mod territory. It's the engine that Kojimas team built. It's the assets that Kojimas team built. That area they're showing in this video is the outpost from MGSV's mission 3 with a few tweaks. It's the same gameplay from MGSV. This could easily just be DLC for the main game. Even the character models are using the character generator that Kojimas team established the pipeline for (both for MGSV and PES).
Konami are riding coat tails with this game, which doesn't bother me a bit. But to say it's amazing what they can accomplish? Come on man, people create full conversion mods in their spare time that take more effort than what we've seen here.
As for the team, it definitely isn't an Itagaki situation lol. Kojima took all the key staff with him, the guys who are hard to replace. The guys who made the foundation of this game possible to begin with. Of course Konami still has 3d artists and programmers, but that's a no brainer.
@ConanTheStoner: I mean, of course everything is ripped from the standard game. It's not a full priced game or a sequel. I don't really get the outrage for the reused assets. I thought it looked cool and offered a nice spin on what was already a great playing game. Plus the defense sections look like a great place to try out all the weapons you were discouraged from using in MGSV like machine guns and explosives. As long as there are enough zombie types and scenarios to keep it interesting it could be a cool expansion.

Oh yeah I'm with you man, no outrage here, I just thought it was funny how blatant it was. Like if I was the dude cutting the trailer together I would have probably avoided showing one of the first outposts of MGSV lol.
But yeah, I think they could have a really fun game on their hands here, I'll definitely be checking it out.

Why wouldn't I be. It's only been a year since MGSV released and look what Konami has managed to make without Kojima. All Kojima's had to show for things since leaving Konami is Norman Reedus's naked ass and a whole lot of gobbledygook...
@lamprey263:
lol ok. See edit above.
Basically you're impressed with what they've made without Kojima... even though 99.9% of it was made under Kojima lol.
@ConanTheStoner: you're right, they're really just using the same assets that were created for MGSV, if what you say is true then such a project is a nice jumping off point while the developers get some practice with the new way of things, I don't think they're completely helpless without Kojima though, but they do lack the weight of his name

Oh I don't think they're helpless without Kojima at all. As a matter of fact, I'm not against the idea that Konami might even be able to create a better MGS game without Kojima from scratch. It may not have all the attention to detail and wackyness that Kojimas MGS games are known for, but I'm not one of these stooges who believes the series can't thrive without Kojima either.
I agree with you, I believe this is more of a test bed project for their team and there is no shame in that.
I just thought you were insinuating that Konami did this all on their own inside a years time and I was like "wtf"?

lol
