Metal Gear Survive GameSpot Review: 5/10

GameSpot in the last hour has posted its review for Metal Gear Survive and gave it a 5/10. This is a point less than the "review-in-progress" score of 6/10.

Yeah, this looked shit from inception. Shockingly, it turned out even shittier.

Sad that Gamespot took 5 points off because they couldn't stroke Kojima's ego in this review :(

The last few days I wondered if perhaps Metal Gear Survive would surprise us and be actually a good if not excellent game... LOL at me for giving any props to Konami.

Ouch. I can’t say that I’m all that surprised though considering Kojima is gone and given the current state that Konami is in. It saddens me to see Konami like this though because back in the SNES era I considered them gaming gods and in my top 5 gaming companies at the time.

Good, now they can focus on their pachinko machines.

@i_p_daily: You obviously didn't play the beta... It was horrible. Game shouldn't of released at all.

I can't say I'm surprised, but 5 means mediocre here, and overall it's getting mixed reviews. I'm enjoying it and have no regrets buying it, but later in the game I have encountered a few frustrating moments. I really enjoy survival games though and it does some things well, but this game would have been better received had they not used the Metal Gear name imo, they should have done it a brand new IP in the survival genre, and tried something a little more original. Many of the mechanics seem like your usual survival game stuff.

The same score I would have given to MGS5.

Looked shit from day one, never mind the $10 save slot. PachinKonami should stick to rolling metal balls.

I suppose it's a better survival game than Rust, which was scored at almost half of Survive.

The should release Metal Gear Solid GBC on 3DS VC.
