MetalGear3DS wow its ugly. Not buying a 3DS anymore.

I would buy any console/portable if MGS is on it. WOW this is a MAJOR DOWNGRADE! MGS 3DS look worse than a MGS on PSP. I thought it was sopposed to have console graphics? Better lower that price to $99 Nintendo!

To be honest I had high hopes for the 3DS high profile games and i was especially impressed by the first few screens and the naked sample but if this is what 3DS is capabale rendering a MGS game....speechless

Have you watched Kid Icarus: Uprising, Resident Evil: Revelations, Animal Crossing (hell, it looks better than City Folk), or Beyond the Labyrinth? Blame the dev, not the system.

lol, when did the MGS devs say that their game would have console graphics (btw, Technically, those are console graphics, just not good ones. ;) )?

I think the hype for this game was pretty much killed off when the HD MGS collection was announced anyway.

I highly doubt many people would buy a $170 handheld just to play an old port.

Its obvious that the budget for this game was severely cut. I was also planning to get it, but was I saw the downgrade from the naked sample trailer to the e3 screens I changed my mind. These new batch of screens only support my position.

2. MGS3D hype died off when MGS HD collection announced.
3. As far as portability goes, the PS3 version will have "transfarring" where you will be able to transfer MGS games to your PSP.

Has anyone seen the MGS3 trailer on the 3DS store? It certainly looks better than this. I think you really need to see the game in action on the 3DS.Randoggy

I live in Europe. The app itself has only 4 videos and I can't find the E3 videos from the eShop either.

People kept asking if the PS Vita was going to have its RAM downgraded, and after all this time Sony has still said "no." After seeing these new MGS3 screens, it looks like it's the 3DS that had a downgrade! :o

Why, i've seen infinitely better looking games than that on the 3DS. Resulting that the hardware is there. So logically, its Konami's fault for whatever the hell happened with this game.

Its a handheld, not a console. This is how handheld games looked in the 6th generation wen the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox were alive and well.The progression is good.

This is probably the only game I would have bought a 3DS for. Now, not so much. Ill have to reconsider.USBxDVD

I don't gives a rats ass about handheld gaming, i never owned one and never will. But i am bored enough to bring some logic to you. The crappy visuals from the MGS 3DS game are a blunder from Konami. If the hardware wasn't there, Resident Evil Revelations (gameplay vid. shown recently) & Beyond the Labyrint wouldn't be what they are. This is fact, end of disscusion.

sometimes a version of a game on a particular console is not all it could be FF4 comes to mind thinking of DS and PSP versions.

And the Gamecube was a powerful machine for its time, well above the PS2 in power and just below the Xbox. And honestly, why are people acting like this is a shock? Its not a huge secret that the 3DS' overall power is around the range of Gamecube-Xbox.

But here's the thing, the failure of MGS3D's graphics is not the fault of the 3DS. If the 3DS is close to the level of the Gamecube or Xbox, then the game should look much better then it looked on the PS2. Any failure to enhance the graphics beyond the PS2 version is not an issue of the hardware.

It due to either a slashed budget or a development team that can't be bothered to enhance the graphics further. If the game ends up looking far worse then the PS2 version, then the finger need to be pointed at either Konami, Kojima, or both parties.
