I played the demo and thought it was pretty good. I'm going with 9/10 GS, and 89 MC! I think it will be hard for them to outscore Persona 5, that game was a landmark title. How about you, SW? What is your hype for Metaphor:Refantazio?

What has Studio Zero made before and what kind of games are they known for?
Storied games? Platformers? Horror games?
Seems this is their first game from what I can see, but dev team seems to host a lot of people who've worked on Persona previously. Link.
Haven’t tried the demo yet but I am pretty interested in it. I don’t know though. Kind of thinking:
GS - 8/10
MC - 86
Looks like it has a lot of original ideas to add to the universe. I'll be checking out the demo but I have other games I'm playing.
I enjoyed the demo. I think the game has a lot of potential, and I appreciate that it's finally a Persona game without a massive focus on highschool.
Still, there's a ton of visual noise, the performance kinda sucks, and there's some frustrations with the overworld combat. So maybe it's an 8/10?
Likely around an 85 would be my guess. There is a lot to like here... however early in the demo it was 90 percent cut scenes and a storyline that hopped all over the place. Hopefully the last 4 or 5 hours or the demo can be expected for the vast majority of the rest of the game at launch, because although I'm pre-ordering the game I know it's over 100 hours long to 100 percent and if 50 hours is forced scenes then that's awful, but if at least 80 percent is gameplay from that point forward it will likely be a great game.
Man, I still need to play SMTV Vengeance.
Unfortunately, it's not that great.
The story is really weak and the characters, especially the main are weepy and soft.
I adore the SMT games for their dire tone and visceral story line. Digital Devil Saga 1, 2 & Nocturne are virtually flawless in that execution.
This, however, just feels like Persona lite. Too much sympathy and goody 2 shoes going on to be regarded as SMT's like that of the titles I mentioned above. I love my turn based stuff, but this is Persona wrapped in SMT clothes.
Preordered the PS5 ver but didnt try the demo. Hope its good but even if get middling reviews I still likely play for a while as I do love the genre.
Same...literally
I like that it's NOT aiming to be a Persona clone however
Is this another Persona type game that starts off skow as F and has a bunch of high school kids dressed like hookers?
Not Epstein type shit le problematic (which reviewers typically bring up every 10 minutes when tits are abit big) because you're role playing as a child yourself.
Dems the rules.
Seems my intuition has paid off yet again. I seldomly ever preorder games, but this was one of the very few I felt confident in pulling the trigger.
This probably wasn't on a lot of people's radar I'm sure, but now some will take a long second look.
I am intrigued by the game.....but I didn't like Persona 5 all that much (which Eurogamer also gave a strong review). Still....it has my attention for some reason. An interesting setup (and your ship runs on steam....literally :P). I have the demo downloaded but there were some technical hickups.....and I'm busy playing GOT. But i'll try it again at some point and see if I get on with it.
Atlus has always been one of my favorite game companies but they are really killing it right now. Unicorn Overlord is a goat tier game and this has looked great since it was revealed. Glad I pre-ordered the game to see for myself either way.

Atlus delivers the goods.
Lol
It honestly wasn't even on my radar until now. I probably dismissed it as another one of those low budget series JRPGs because of the ridiculous naming, but I'm legitimately curious about it now. I already bought FF16 and Sparking Zero for the month so It may be next year before I bite and buy.

Man, that is creepy af.... I was convinced while he was living he was trying to turn his looks into Peter pan... Pointy Disney nose, forever young.... He owned never land and was trying to be pan...
Dayum! Atlus are back.
Don't know much about this game, but it looks like Persona meets Final Fantasy.
Play the demo! Save carries over.

It's very Persona, but instead of exposing school bullies and so on, it starts at "we have to go murder this guy" and ramps up from there.
Honestly, I burnt out on Persona games. This fantasy world looks too generic. It just resembles too much human society with a few furry ears, animal-looking faces and so on. Kinda got tired of such bland fantasy. Even Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth looks more interesting than this. At least Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has mildly interesting sci-fi world. I wish they came up with something like turn-based Elden Ring/Dark Souls.
I haven't played that much turned based games, but I really loved Midnight Suns (well, the combat anyway). So I might pick this up for the gameplay. But I don't know about the aesthetics and other components of the game. Perhaps I'm getting too old 🤣. But a 10 is a 10. And I do like to play stuff I haven't really tried before.
