Metro 2033, AAA?

What's they hype for this? There seems to be a of of talk about the graphics engine.

I'm hyping AAA, but I think it might get a AA score here.

Why is anyone hyping this AAA? Because it looks pretty? It comes from a small untested Ukrainian developer. If we're lucky, it'll be a linear Stalker. Unless I'm missing something that is.

Small foreign developers can give us some of the best games around. Just because it doesn't have a six-hundred million dollar budget and a Halo marketing campaign doesn't mean it'll suck. Hell, half these small budget games kill big budget releases like Call of Duty.

You never know. Braid was a one man project and it got AAA. Have faith in 4A

From what I have seen, I would say AA @ 8.5. Regardless, it is looking like a buy for me. I do wish they would get on with releasing more footage, though.

It comes out the same day as GOW3 so expect a review probably a week or so after

Ha, sorry, I didn't mean that as an insult, it's just Eastern European games tend to be "diamond-in-the-rough" sort affairs, where they have brilliant ideas and are often unique and innovative, but are usually bogged down by bugs and technical problems. Games like Stalker, King's Bounty, Cryostasis, etc. are wonderful games, but often don't do so great with reviewers. I'm just saying, maybe we should be a bit cautious with the hype here?

they usually do amazingly well with the reviewers on platforms their meant for. ie compare pc gamers review with GTs review of STALKER.

they only get 'bad' scores due to them being unpolished and generally buggy which is usually fixed after launch. but hopefully with the fact that its being released on the 360 (never thought id actually be happy its on a console) which means MS is riding their back to polish it somewhat, and based on STALKER, and sinc eits a more linear and tightly focused game it should do pretty damn well

or you know people are hyping it because its coming from a developer made from members of the dev team that made one of the best FPSs this gen

If i'm not mistaken its being developed by a team that splintered off from the Stalker SoC development team, so it will likely be buggy but good. not sure about AAA, i'd guess 8 or 8.5.

I think that in the xbox 360 it will be a technical piece of crap. On the PC, will be AA (review-wise); with time and mod support and all,could easily be one of the best games this year. Sure as hell it looks awesome.

I think it will be in the AA range (8.0-8.5).

A. It looks like it has good graphics, but from the gameplay they've shown it looks pretty clunky. If it scores AA ill most likely pick it up.

I don't do the A's thing for video games. Metro 2033 looks very good & I plan to play it on my PC.
