Metro 2033 is a FPS action adventure game THAT WILL BLOW YOUR HEAD IN AWESOME-NESS!!!!! Seriousily this game looks like the business. Its got a brilliant story based on a book of the same name written by Dmitry that is extremly populor in its home-land (mother-land) Russia and for once is not some US army game or about some sciencetist having a spaz with a crowbar. This game looks totally awesome and seems to prove we aren't tired of FPS and doesn't portray Russian as "Those bad guys in COD".

OMG check out those graphics! Its like STALKER but even better!

Excuse my spelling I'm just so freakin HYPED!

Uhm the setting is like stalker.. however this game is tunnel/underground based... STALKER is more "OPEN WORLD/Sandboxy".. Can't really compare.

I'm gonna get it on PC. And i like to remind everyone once again that the lowest settings on PC will still look better than the 360 version.

Well, in Shadow of Chernobyl I'm currently clearing out the underground tunnel complex underneath Agroprom, and I gotta say....this game's screens are a spitting image of the claustrophobic, eery environments I'm encountering now in STALKER.

Its nothing like stalker as far as design is concerned, aside from the usual FPS tropes (edit* though yes the underground sections are indeed similar).

However it looks rather great.

nice one captain obvious, and the 360 and ps3 run at 'medium' settings by PC standards, so it will look a bit better than it will on low settings on the PC

It seems like it's capture the horror of STALKER perfectly. If it doesn't have the atmosphere and authenticity as STALKER, that'll be a shame. But this is definitly a first day buy for me.

I wish someone ported Cryostasis to the 360. It'd be a sleeper hit there.

I already beat it and I got the steam version too, best $30 I have ever spent, but if you bought other STALKERs through steam you only pay $20, I bought hard copies. But what he is saying is true, the minimum requirements are an 8800GT and a core 2 duo, and in the interview he said that said system will outperform the consoles. Dunno if its the 256mb 8800GT or the 512. I am also pretty sure that an 8600GT will run the game just fine at 720p, and so will the other cards that are in-between the 8600 - 8800, such as the 9600GT, HD3850, 3870, 8800GS, 8800gts 320, 640 etc.

I actually agree with you there. The game would work well on the consoles. Sure it wouldn't look as pretty, but the gameplay and level design would stay intact, and it would whip Biosock a new one. There is something about that game that keeps you playing.

I really think this game has a lot of potential to be great but will fall just short of that. Ammunition as currency is a novel idea and the graphics and gameplay looks solid enough. This game's success in critical acclaim will come in how well it weill portray the story in the game. Book to game adaptations sounds to be a tough translation and I'm curious to see how it pans out. I expect it to sell well with gaming aficionados due to it's anarchist and marxist overtones.
