If only 4A Games had access to motion/performance capture and they would make all the games with seemingly unlimited budget look like absolute sh*t. Not that they aren't technically better in everything already with a fraction of the budget but that's the only area they are lacking in currently.

It's fine so long as I can skip it. ;) By the way, is that woman the female sniper in Last Light? I hope there's no more sex scenes like the one with her in Last Light.

I'm surprised you don't mention that when you rag at the ones in TW3 and Mass Effect. He He.

yes. she is artyom wife anna.

ESRB said sexual theme rather than content as oppose to in last light where esrb said nudity and sexual content so i assume there will not be.

i wish this trailer was narrated by artyom. wanted to see who voiced him this time. 2033 actor was amazing. too bad they change him in last light.

Uh oh. Partial nudity.. could it just be an ass or 1 of Anna's titties again?

hopefully none. esrb of last light was nudity but only show brief sequence where as partial means maybe none.

they learn their mistakes and not including useless sex scenes rather focus on dark atmosphere that series known for. take this CDPR.

It shows her titty which is nudity. Most likely it will show Artyom busting her cheeks at the minimum. Guess we won't know for sure until the ESRB releases their rating description

I liked Anna's attitude in Last Light until that last part with her boobs. Not interested unless it was live-action.

Anyway, I didn't have any problem with the Artyom narrator in Last Light. He sounded plausible enough to be Slavic or something. Same goes for Exodus.

I hope there's a Pavel/Pavlov(?)-like character in Exodus. I liked his role in Last Light.

Im hoping for Khan. Metro is not Metro without Khan. he is most important character after artyom.

you only play as artyom. this is basically misleading trailer. she is minor character.

artyom, khan, hunter are 3 major characters of Metro Franchise.

This trailer highlights why I I've always preferred Stalker over Metro.

Stalker feels like a real place devoid of Hollywood elements. It's rough and dirty. Everyone is some generic looking Russian with a rape mask, when you die it feels like the game doesn't give a shit if you're there are not. Everyone including the feel feels like cog in a wheel.

This trailer with it's reliance of scripted sequences, Putin' lingerie model and villain of the week comes across as weak sauce. Artificial, contrived.

If I want a Hollywood B-movie horror/action game can just play Resident Evil. Very poor trailer.

Ok, that is good because if it´s a continuation of the books, then it would be strange playing some minor character.

They need to reduce the downtime in these games. It got a lot better in last light.... but overall it seems that the action segments are too short between the extended cut scenes.

No female protagonist.

No anime girls.

Plot isn't romance centric.

Hard pass, objectively worthless garbage.

Well, couple of reasons for this, the single-player didn't really evolve afterwords, for it's day, it's implementation of scripted sequences was truly impressive. Even if the gameplay itself was limited, uncreative and repetitive compared to something superior like Halflife.

There is also a shift in tone. The first game was making the player feel part of something bigger, inconsequential. As the series went forward it increasingly became a power-fantasy for dude bros.

Some people will say Modern Warefare is where it started, but it dated back almost immediately towards the console version. One shows the Russians as a ruthless propaganda machine with scared boys, the other glorified them as bad ass manly men going to kick ass and chew bubblygum.

The appeal of Stalker is that it has none of this. Most horror games have good looking folk with dramatic music and huge production values with perfect placement of light and form. It all feels synthetic.

Don't really get that with Stalker. It has a rough course quality to it, which purposefully or not adds to it's immersion. Characters feel like "some guy", as opposed to an over-elaborate mocap with a purposefully designed character. It barely uses music beyond ambience. It has large sections of mundane. You feel weak as shit etc...

It's has an effect no other FPS really manages to achieve. Far Cry, for all it's production values feels like a theme part in comparison. The designers hand always evident.

well best thing about COD1 was russian campaign in stalingrad. before that it absolutely suck. just scripted game with NPC open door etc. until it reach to stalingrad battle and it become good. still it was overrated game and dont know why PC gamers love it.

being replaying COD2 I think it was better in every way. the starting soviet campaign and british campaign set in africa were fun and then D-Day and Hill 400 were amazing.

the thing is Stalker and Metro apeal is different. STALKER is sandbox FPS that focus on immersion. its immersive and atmospheric game and probably my second fav game of all time while Metro is nowhear near my top 10 list.

Metro Games are excellent too, despite being linear they are immersive games with one of the best storytelling in any of video games.

the new Metro is mix of old Metro games and Stalker element into combine. its something i wanted as imagine what if we combine STALKER formula into story driven Half life inspired. as first 2 Metro games took inspiration from Half life and also COD.

as a result Im expecting Metro Exodus to be one of the best FPS ever made and 4A games will deliver.

Add also Fallout 4 elements such as the workbenches which make scavenging mundane items mandatory because they can be used for repairs and production of parts/upgrades. If you notice many YT playthroughs of STALKER games, most players tend to limit scavenging to ammo, artifacts, and medical supplies only. The rest are usually discarded.

Since scavenging will be important in Exodus, I wonder if there will be a weight limit? Both the STALKER and Fallout games have weight limits with the former being the most draconian. I'm playing STALKER: Lost Alpha DC and my weight limit is restricted to 35 kg (including everything I'm wearing). Sheesh. Even the retail STALKER games allowed a starting limit of 50 kg.

Now that I remember the logistics stuff, Exodus just jumped a few notches higher.

Yeah, these two franchises are only similar on a superficial level. Metro is narrative driven, while in Stalker, if you're not careful, you might completely miss the story. Something I've never liked about the Metro series is all the missions where you're either escorting someone, or following someone. It's no fun when you can't play the game at your own pace, and instead have to wait for scripted sequences to do basic things like get through a door.

but Khan is mysterious character and help artyom always. anna only introduce in last light. i think book and game stories are different yet both are cannon.

in book artyom is talkative. in games he only speaks in loading screen ie narrating story.

I cant imagine Metro without Khan. i would be very disappointed if we dont see Khan there..

@ghosts4ever: I think Arytom and Anna are finished in the novel series.

And both the novels and the games have different canon, but the author oversaw the games. This is because books and games are different mediums in his view.

@ghosts4ever: Im with ya buddy. I have loved these games and the original 2033 novel for years now. This is my first most anticipated.
