Metroid Prime is a much better game--but I really enjoyed Halo 1 as well. TrueReligion_
Throwing the genres aside and leaving nothing else but games,.......
I'd have to say I enjoyed Metroid Prime a lot more than Halo
metroid feels more constricted like your on a set stage u have to follow, halo was more fun and had more roamingwii4me

HAAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! THAT is exactly the oppoisite of what the games are, prime has a big world for u to explore, halo? just a level that u go straight. but seriously , what were u thinking?

I think you got those backwards....
I liked MP1 just a little bit more than Halo CE.
Halo CE had an amazing and original campiagn and started an epic story.
It also had amazing split-screen, LAN, coop, and you can play online for free with XBC.
It also influenced the FPS genre for consoles massively.
Also, MP and Halo are totally different games. Kind of hard to compare "gameplay".
Graphics goes to MP, however.

agreed:D
1. Graphics >> MP
2. Gameplay >> That's a tough one. MP had no real strafing but was a FPA...so it didn't need it. I guess I'll say MP because of the load times appeared to be seemless for the most part and didn't bog down any of the gameplay.
3. Overall >> MP. The environments and atmosphere in MP just seemed more unique and better than Halo. Also, other than the great Halo theme song...MP's music was better for the most part.
Metroid, it's really amazing and took me by surprise. I've had a lot of fun in Halo's multiplayer, though, it's a great game as well.
@AvidGaMer, I JUST found this out the other day, despite multiple playthroughs since its launch, but did you know you can press L (without clicking it all the way down) to strafe and it doesn't lock on? (clicking it down all the way makes it lock on) So you can strafe, but not turn while doing so. :P

I have to say I agree with wii4me, prime didn't have as many open areas as Halo;CE

lol. I had no clue you could do that. I've played through it at least 5 times too.

i think the point though is that in MP ure free to explore any part of the planet as u see fit (as long as u have the right power ups and such). halo is more linear overall. the levels themselves are indeed bigger than in MP but once ure done with it...ure done. theres no exploring to do in the levels and u cant go back to em in the campaign.
both had great graphics and gameplay
but i prefer MP, because it had amazing atmosphere, and the design was generally better IMO, especially level design (halo had too much repetition when it came to levels, whereas in MP every room was different and full of detail)
Well Metroid Prime was the underdog that proved us all wrong, evenus hardcore Metroid fans. With a isolated world that has a life of it's own and it's unique gameplay which still stands out to this date. I must say that Metroid Prime deserves every single bit of praise it has ever gotten. The most hardcore for the hardcore and one of the best singleplayer experiences ever created on any single game console. Period.
Halo had a fun campaign and Halo 2 was the modern Goldeneye multiplayer experience however, in terms of singleplayer where both halo and metroid competed in. Metroid Prime stands out as unique and comes out on top.

NO ONE NEEDS TO POST ANYMORE, HE SAID EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID.
Gameplay: Not really comparable but i will say i enjoyed Metroid's more because Halo 1 still is just another run and gun FPS game, i liked Metroid Prime 1's originality and puzzles, the boss fights are really fun and memorable.
Graphics: Metroid, Halo 1 had some pretty ugly textures, and i liked Metroid's art better
Sound: Halo, because it has speech and a great soundtrack, Metroid doesnt have any speech whatsoever and the music is pretty subtle
Value: I dunno, Halo had a 10 hour campaign with cool multiplayer and Metroid had a 20 hour campaign, pretty fair i guess
