Graphics, metroid prime got much much mroe detailed worlds, and didn't copy n paste levels. Gameplay however, they're 2 different games compeltely.

overall i enjoyed prime more. im playing it again at the mo (just defeated big rock guy) and its a cracker.

H1 was also great though. the SP in that was great fun. co-op also made the game really shine.

Graphics, Metroid - it came out years before the launch Halo, so this is expected.

Gameplay - Halo was more fun and had multiplayer to boot, but Prime was more atmospheric and original.

And more... Uh... Halo was more popular, while MP had more of a legacy?

For me, Halo was the better game for one reason - it was the more fun. The original MP was great and I played it and loved it, but wasn't quite as fun as the first Halo.

I didn't like Prime 1 that much. I didn't play Halo's SP though either but I really enjoyed its multi-player.

Throwing the genres aside and leaving nothing else but games,.......

I'd have to say I enjoyed Metroid Prime a lot more than Halo

Really? Prime felt much more open ended to me (hence all the backtracking complaints). Halo was more directed, divided into levels, wheras you were really loose in Prime's world.

I thought Prime was incredible but Halo trounced it in terms of story and "epic" feel. I don't want to say anything bad about either game because they are both classics.

Well put. Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games ever, and although Halo 1 is excellent, I didn't find it absolutely amazing like MP.

Its odd... I've played Prime 1, but I don't own Prime 2. Idon't ownCE, but I have Halo 2. Plus I plan on getting both 3's:)

If I can compare Prime 1 to Halo 2, I liked Prime just a tad bit better, but both were... mindblowing games.

Halo CE had an amazing and original campiagn and started an epic story.

It also had amazing split-screen, LAN, coop, and you can play online for free with XBC.

It also influenced the FPS genre for consoles massively.

Also, MP and Halo are totally different games. Kind of hard to compare "gameplay".

Graphics goes to MP, however.

1. Graphics >> MP

2. Gameplay >> That's a tough one. MP had no real strafing but was a FPA...so it didn't need it. I guess I'll say MP because of the load times appeared to be seemless for the most part and didn't bog down any of the gameplay.

3. Overall >> MP. The environments and atmosphere in MP just seemed more unique and better than Halo. Also, other than the great Halo theme song...MP's music was better for the most part.

Metroid, it's really amazing and took me by surprise. I've had a lot of fun in Halo's multiplayer, though, it's a great game as well.

@AvidGaMer, I JUST found this out the other day, despite multiple playthroughs since its launch, but did you know you can press L (without clicking it all the way down) to strafe and it doesn't lock on? (clicking it down all the way makes it lock on) So you can strafe, but not turn while doing so. :P

I definitely enjoyed Metroid Prime more. Halo was a bit too generic for my tastes. Especially in terms of level design. Both are great games, though.

Go back and play through Assault on the Control Room in Halo and tell me that MP has larger environments. MP was a great game, but if you're talking about sheer size of the levels, Halo sure had some huge environments, and that's one of the things that I really liked about it.

i think the point though is that in MP ure free to explore any part of the planet as u see fit (as long as u have the right power ups and such). halo is more linear overall. the levels themselves are indeed bigger than in MP but once ure done with it...ure done. theres no exploring to do in the levels and u cant go back to em in the campaign.

both had great graphics and gameplay

but i prefer MP, because it had amazing atmosphere, and the design was generally better IMO, especially level design (halo had too much repetition when it came to levels, whereas in MP every room was different and full of detail)

I found Halo to be overly repetative but it was still good fun. Preffered Prime over it easily but Halo 2 was anoither story, much better.

As most others have said, MP crushes Halo in terms of graphics. Personally I also much prefer MP's gameplay over Halo's, mainly because I much prefer Action Adventure games over First Person shooters. I also personally prefer MP's audio presentation, though Halo's is still fairly good.

Well Metroid Prime was the underdog that proved us all wrong, evenus hardcore Metroid fans. With a isolated world that has a life of it's own and it's unique gameplay which still stands out to this date. I must say that Metroid Prime deserves every single bit of praise it has ever gotten. The most hardcore for the hardcore and one of the best singleplayer experiences ever created on any single game console. Period.

Halo had a fun campaign and Halo 2 was the modern Goldeneye multiplayer experience however, in terms of singleplayer where both halo and metroid competed in. Metroid Prime stands out as unique and comes out on top.

Gameplay: Not really comparable but i will say i enjoyed Metroid's more because Halo 1 still is just another run and gun FPS game, i liked Metroid Prime 1's originality and puzzles, the boss fights are really fun and memorable.

Graphics: Metroid, Halo 1 had some pretty ugly textures, and i liked Metroid's art better

Sound: Halo, because it has speech and a great soundtrack, Metroid doesnt have any speech whatsoever and the music is pretty subtle

Value: I dunno, Halo had a 10 hour campaign with cool multiplayer and Metroid had a 20 hour campaign, pretty fair i guess
