Cutscenes were amazing. You know you can skip them. But you aren't legit if you don't watch them all like I did :D

Haha I did that for MGS1 when I accidentaly skipped a scene. I played them all back to back and son of a gun they are amazing. Anyone who just plays 4 without playing the others will not understand why 4 is so great.
Just because it's claimed as one of the greatest games this generation and praised by critics everywhere doesn't mean it's overrated. It is my favorite game of all time. The cutscenes were the best part.
By the way it is the only exclusive this gen to get a 10 on Gamespot. ;)

100% Agreed, the most over-rated game ever this gen. Gameplay makes up about 40% of the game, cant walk 20 feet without a cutscene interrupting. can't even roll fast like in MGS3. knock down, get back up only to get knocked down again by enemy, repeat. We saw hours of Raiden footage in cutscenes but didnt even get 1 chance, not 1 chance to play as him.
MGS4 is one the pinnacle games in this gen. Obviously its not gonna be catered for all since people expect different things and you should ought to play the first 3.

Wow, there was nothing wrong with the gameplay, why do I feel that if it was a pc exclusive that you would have enjoyed it? I played the others and TBH, I have a hard time seeing why somebody would call it the best game of the gen. For everything it does, there's other games that do it WAY better IMO. I also think that it was lacking compared to its predecessors.
Its not overrated. It is an amazing, beautiful, fun, and engaging game that should be played from beginning to end by anyone who enjoys a story in a game or great third person action games.

Coming from someone that enjoyed dues ex gameplay for the first time 2 years ago, I dont believe that for 1 sec. You should try to take the goggles off every now and then.
I wasn't aware Deus Ex and MGS4 were the same type of game. I learn something new everyday....not.
