MGS graphics are not bad...

Okay, one thing you guys dont understand is why this game looks so good in motion and not in stills. Many previews have said that the reason MGS4s graphics looks so good and immersive is because of the environment. For example, there is always dust flying about, garbage flying out, explosions, the wind blowing snakes hair etc. Stills cannot capture these intricate details which make MGS4's environment so lifelike. If you dont believe me, just watch the 15 min gameplay trailer again to see for yourself or if your in a detective mood, find the previews that said this.

Also, dont compare MGO to MGS4. While MGS4 runs at a solid 60 fps, mgo only runs at about 30-40. Also, MGO's graphics, though not bad, are not nearly as poilished as MGS4s. it also lacks most of the affects I mentioned above that make the environment so immersive.

Who said MGS4 looks bad? It's not going to be the graphics king, but it is anything but bad.

Bad Textures, thats it.

thats the only complaint anyone can have about the games graphics.

I rarely see someone complain about the MGS graphics but if you do see someone its the hardcore xbox fan.

If games like Halo 3 can get bashed on graphics.. I don't see why MGS4 wouldn't be.user_nat

I expected alot more in both games in terms of graphics, i hope mgs4 ends up like halo and completly own the haters anyway.

because we all know that Animation, Meshes, charr models, level designe etc got nothing to do with graphics.

MGSIV looks great, wont be 'the graphics king' but hey i dont care i'll be hooked with the new gameplay elements, its fantastic story and the online modes....

You make a valid point. I may sound bias, but ever since I laid my eyes on Gears of War and picked up my very own copy, it has become my standard in gaming. Gears of War looks absolutely amazing. GOW really paid attention to detail, down to every nook and cranny. Cracks on the wall and ground, has cracks within itself! I mean.. sheesh. Still, MGS4 looks beautiful. GOW is more on dark, dull colors and high contrast - deep blacks. MGS4, judging from gameplay footage is more of a open world. We have desert (sp?) colors, browns, tans, army green and all that. I guess we just have to wait and see. I'm positive MGS4 will have more level designs than just the ones we have seen in the recent months. Kojima doesnt disappoint, ever.

The textures aren't great,I think thats down to the PS3's limited vram.But I just love the overall look of this game,I think it looks superb.
