MGS Osaka "doesn't exist", wishes they funded Titanfall.

Wait, I thought Microsoft opened a new studio in Osaka, Japan working on a new IP (possibly an RPG) or maybe a sequel to one of their dormant IPs (Lost Odyssey)? Now Spencer says it doesn't exist? That's... disappointing. :(

Also, Phil Spencer says he wishes Microsoft funded Titanfall so they owned the IP. Wants to invest more in new IPs. Also, won't fund Shenmue 3 due to being "Sega's game".

Considering it's Sega's, chances are that it will be multiplat. Also, Yu Suzuki said he wants a kickstarter crowdfunding for it, which gives it a higher chance to come to pc more than anything lol. Not to mention, Sega puts alot of their games on PC now adays. Anywho, it's all speculation and a pipe dream, but what Suzuki said is the most you can go off of for now.

Sony have been leaked to reviving shenmue for a long time now, and shenmue has never been a multiplat.

And if that were true, than why are pc gamers starting petitions for Sega games to come out on it?

Those are just rumors, nothing is official. The facts are that Suzuki himself said he wants to crowdfund it. Also you're wrong, Shenmue 1 was exclusive because Sega was still in the console business. Shenmue 2 is actually a multiplat, since it was ported to the xbox after Sega got out of the console race during the Dreamcast era. Sorry man, but obviously you know very little on Shenmue's history and I just took you back to school.

I never said "all" sega games make it to pc. I said sega puts "alot" of their games on PC now adays. Learn to read and differentiate. Not sure if you knew this, but Sega supports PC more than any other platform. Their franchises that bring in the most money happen to be PC exclusive.

I knew about Osaka not existing months ago. Poor lems thought they were getting weeb RPGs, guess not.

The cancer that is EA goes where the money is; last gen it was Xbox, this gen it'll be PlayStation. Chin up, lems, the Xbone will have exclusive DLC maps for Titanfall 2 in 2017.

The petition is for the platinum stuff since MGSR was released and the engine is fully working on the PC,so why not. Otherwise a lot of their focus is the PC,it´s pretty much the platform they´ve been suporting the most in the last few years,especially considering that their big moneymakers are PC franchises and sonic,almost all of their console stuff have been massive commercial flop,unlike with the PC stuff.

He didn't say he wouldn't fund it. He said it was a SEGA game and they couldn't make it. Which is all true. Doesn't mean they couldn't fund it. Sony hasn't said anything about Shenmue coming to the PS4. You're just wishful thinking. lol!! The first game was on Dreamcast. The 2nd game was on Dreamcast and Xbox. So you'd have to play the first two on Dreamcast & XBox to catch up to what's going on in the 3rd game. lol!!

Lol, SEGA make an exclusive game. So funny. Sony wouldn't have enough money to convince them.

The entire Yakuza series (PS2, PS3, PSP), Valkyria Chronicles (PS3, PSP).....

Hmm... didn't even know those were SEGA games.

Unfortunately all of them sold terribly in the west.

Hopefully Sega does start putting more of their Japanese games on other platforms. It'd be a shame if they went away.

Sega doesn't want to flush money down the drain. Those games only sell in Japan, and you want them to put the games on platforms that perform like shit there? The Wii version was a disaster, I can't imagine how other versions would perform.

Shenmue 3 would be a natural fit on Playstation because Yakuza is the successor and they do well on Playstation. Maybe a DS Shenmue would do well, but I don't think that's what people are asking for. Sega is not against exclusives, they just announced Yakuza ps4 and Persona 5 ps3. People in this thread also seem to be confusing Sega published games and games by their development teams.

I want them to put their Japanese games on other systems for the Western release.

As it stands Sega has no plans to localize the next Yakuza because those games sell poorly in the west on Playstation.

Now that the Xbox, PS4, and PC all share similar architecture they have an opportunity to get their niche Japanese games out to a wider audience without expending too many resources. PC, being Sega's most successful platform, would be a good start at least. I bet crowd-funding efforts on PC alone would provide enough money to get ports of both Shenmue games, and all the Yakuza games.

If it stays Playstation exclusive then I'm afraid it'll stay Japan exclusive as well.
