MGS4 demo showed the RSX and limited 256MB ram textures issues.PLAIN AS DAY!!!

Don't get me wrongI think the player movement is top notch and the animation looks pretty good.

But you can CLEARLY see yet another big Sony game and YES this is the BIG DADDY for PS3 suffers the washed out texture issues. I don't think there is anyway around this anymore. The PS3 clearly has this limited texture issues that Epic first mentioned last year. And we see most of PS3 games have these washed out textures.

Pretty much all walls boxes grounds etc etc in MGS4 demo looked like this. And yes even in the new Killzone pics if you look closely at the walls same thing washed out textures. The Ram is just not there.

PS3 truly is a NON AA and lower res texture system.

I guess all the praise it has been receiving from professional sites doesn't mean anything ether? I guess ranking among the absolute most impressive games visually doesn't mean anything?

Well i never said killzone did not have AA. Because some games will on PS3 just most don't make use of it because of it being a pain to code for it. And it can take a performance hit. I was mainly stating the texture issues.

I wasn't impressed with MGS4 in the slightest..Killzone 2 was their biggest/best showing obviously.

Yeah i kind of felt bad for Hideo because the crowd was kind of like MEH! and then he had to ask is interpiter to ask what they thought so then the crown out of being nice was kind of like oh yeah it's cool like MEH!

The mgs4 trailer seemed kinda rushed to fit the show schedule. TGS, however, is where mgs4 will (hopefully) own.

I just watched the Killzone and MGS4 trailers on my ps3. They look like solid games. But they dont look awe inspiring. The characters in MGS4 look a little cartoony, the texture on the skin/ faces is flat or undetailed and you are right, the walls, the ground and other objects have ok textures, just nothing mind blowing. I dont see anything here thats better, or as good, than what i have seen on the 360.

Yeah I just converted the Killzone stuff to stream in HD to my 360 and it looks good but you can really see why they showed off a level that was really dark. When you do get to see the ground and wall textures they look really bad. That said the character models, blood effects, and animations are all top notch.

I agree. If anything, I thought it looked better.

The only thing that looked different was the hair. Everything else looked awesome. Plus next week we get to see this game in action.

i agree the ps3 does seem to have very poor textures and texture filtering. certainly a limitation it seems.

Well it kind of does and does not. You see the PS3 does not have built in AA like the 360 10mbGPU. So PS3 developers have to use software to do it and it takes a performance hit so most opt to not mess with it. VR5 perfect example it is jaggie city. But the developers are saying they will have the AA clean up and looking smooth on the 360 version.
