Lmfao how are those bad, the pic quality is shoddy btw, in motion that game looks freaking stunning.

WHAT!? this game has good graphics! the colours are abit bland, but that's more to do with the scenery. this games graphics are well above average!

its no crysis, it wont be remembered for its graphical muscle, but its a very good looking game. Why is this even in question :S

Nope, Uncharted still looks better IMO.

The only thing Uncharted has better is textures. But MGS4 is a very open ended game

Uncharted was the first real next gen looking game that has come out thus far, all gears is is filters.

And gears art style, you want too know what it really is? get ready for this one.

A blatant rip off on warhammer 40k marine outfits, just look at the proportions.

No. From what ive seen of MGS4, i still think Uncharted looks better. Like ive said before, MGS4 looks good...in fact it looks great, but there are better looking games.

But for me, except for the personally horrendous enemy character design, I found the Gear's art design to be fitting. It was meant to be oppressive, not Viva Pinata.

It looks great not the best looking game people claime it to be but it looks great.

MGS4 will be awesome can't wait to play it.

The graphics have only improved since the initial showing and look better than the target render. so the answer is no... plain and simple.
Looks better than Gears 2 imo.

one huge testament too mgs4's graphics is how the cutscenes switch back too gameplay so greatly, you don't even notice it.

seriously, mgs4 in motion looks so damn good, its like a cgi movie, at times it feels like pixar team'd up with kojima and stopped making kiddy movies.

with gears, you just don't get that affect, your always aware your playing a game and not something more than it could be.

Yh the way this game goes from cutscenes to gameplay is incredible, ive never seen a game do that before

But MGS4 has so much more than just graphic. Sure it isnt mind blowing not even jaw dropping but it is good... except the jaggied shadows.. lol

Because mgs2 was arguably the best looking, and best performing ps2 game. Even mgs3, had framerate issues and ugly textures. Mgs2, had current gen-like character models, and great shadows. MG1-2 and MGS1-2 had great colors to them as well. Mgs3 though, had a bad color pallete.

But mgs4, has some bad textures shown, too limited on color, and then some. Even kojima said hes disapointed with the graphics. Though, at least the performance is good, since the beta had a good framerate.

lol are you serious? mgs4 best looking game. low res textures does not equal graphics king that coupled with the last gen animation, a.i. hit detection and rumered sub hd resolution please.

the actual graphics are okay. they're nothing special.

Like Ninja Gaiden 2, the game is certainly graphically competent, it just doesn't look "current gen" enough.

It looks like Kojima is using the same visual tricks as he did last time and it just doesn't impress in this day and age. The texture lacking world of MGS was fine on the PS2, but I think Kojima should have taken advantage of the new hardware to make richer textures and add more detail.

The graphics of MGS4 are just way too nondescript---they don't seem to "pop" like games such as Gears, Uncharted and Killzone. Texture is not everything but they are key as far as making games look organic, rich and dynamic. You can't just sweep texture under the rug.

Honestly, MGS4 is severely lacking in the texture department. It makes up for this with very crisp/stylish character models, but the lack of textures give the environments a somewhat flat look. The character models are just far more polished. The visuals should be more consistent.

Like thrones said, they're good, but not great. I also agree with him about Ninja Gaiden. It's all so strange seeing as MGS and NG were dominant visual forces last gen.
