MGS4 graphics vs. Gears 2 graphics. (vids, not screens)

Gears 2 is gorgeous. But I went back and played MGS4 and I think it really deserved the graphics award. Both of these vids showcase what the games are capable of.

Visually, both are incredible console games, but I think MGS4 takes the cake, barely. Please don't complain about the difference in size of the vids, I can't even play HD vids so I'm trying to get proper demonstrations without being able to see them. If you can do better, please do it.

I hate to say this, but I thought Gears of War 2 was more impressive. I'm just a sucker for the texutres and lighting.Wasdie

i love how before it got the award no cows even bothered trying to argue it was best graphics, because it wasn't. they always used uncharted, or KZ2.

i find it hilarious how things change when GS gives out ammo.

it is a joke that MGS4 got best technical. it was rendered sub-HD and upscaled, texture work was shoddy in many parts. presentation was great, but ffs.. nowhere near the best graphics of 2008.

Fable 2 looks just about a million times better actually

Gears 2 beats MGS4 in most the things that make up graphics because MGS4 suffers from a low native resolution that isn't considered to be HD, below 30FPS average frame rate, low poly characters, low rez textures, doesn't support split screen, and several other things and this is after being forced to install the game serveral times. Overall MGS4 isn't very technically impressive.

you obviously haven't played MGS4 then if you think the enviornments are bland. either way MGS4 win too imo. i think people are just fixating on textures and lighting now a days for some reason and don't give other elements their creditRagashahs

My pics are true 720p HD, 1280x720, MGS4 is not even in that resolution, it is upscaled from a lower one
