After playing Fallout 3, GeOW2, Bioshock(360 version), etc...

No game was as polished and finished as MGS4, seriously everything was so smooth and I haven't seen any technical problems at all. The transition from cutscene to gameplay is unmatched, the environmental beauty and draw distance are still not beat, GeOW2 did pretty good but, no.

And doesn't have a festival of glitches like the above games mentioned.

It's very technically sufficent. Very talented team that know how to make good use of their hardware. Still, let's not forget the 5 installs it required to achive this.

I find Nintendo games to be the most polished, I never ever run into glitches, bugs, crashes or frame rate drops with them :)

True but MGS4 was on development for a longer time than any of those games and also for only one console which is a huge advantage for devs.

I haven't even seen any dips in framerate yet you complain it's 27fps and it is smoother than the other games.

Yeah, it was so polished. And on top of that it did so much. Snake even squints when he looks at the sun!

Lol just because you dont notice it doesnt mean it isnt there.

It still stands, 27 fps at something like 1024x768. Which is pathetic, that isnt even HD.

Too bad its not polished in story there are quite a few scenes and bits in the game that dont need to be there add nothing to the story and are just filler.

No just no. In some scenes the frame rate dips as low as 22fps. Thats terrible.

And gorgeous? Hardly. Play any PC game in the last year maxed, now thats gorgeous. MGS 4 is a low resolution, jagged mess.

Lol even after all those stats it's still the most technically impressive console game. And Where is there a game with better graphics other than Crysis???

After playing Fallout 3, GeOW2, Bioshock(360 version), etc...

No game was as polished and finished as MGS4, seriously everything was so smooth and I haven't seen any technical problems at all. The transition from cutscene to gameplay is unmatched, the environmental beauty and draw distance are still not beat, GeOW2 did pretty good but, no.

And doesn't have a festival of glitches like the above games mentioned.

Yep I have to agree, MGS4 is very well polished. It's too bad the story imo doesn't compare to the 3rd installment. Here's hoping for a remake of MGS3 for the ps3 which imo was the best in series.

Halo 3 is the finest and most complete this gen package and since MGS4 couldn't be reviewed with it's on-line content taken into account umm yeah. ;)

PS: What did MGO score ?

Ironic because out of those 4, MGS would be #4 for me.

I thought it was a bit of a frustrating mess, with the worst pacing I've ever been through in a video game. The story is just overcomplicated and cheesey...and you rate it better than an awesome story like Bioshock?

I'm almost tempted to say troll, because you can't be serious.

No But it dosent mean squat if the game cant immerse you. Think of S.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl Has muddy textures but the game itself is highly immersive, and looks fantastic. Or how about Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Not HD, Muddy Textures but its spectacular in its own might Graphics probably the 2nd finest on the wii

Good points. But no game is without its flaws, and that's why I'm upset that GS gives 10s to games like GTA Vl and MGSVl, and then dumps on other games for the smallest reasons:evil:

[QUOTE="Blazerdt47"][QUOTE="Jamiemydearx3"]27fps at a res that is less then 720p? Lolwut?Jamiemydearx3

I haven't even seen any dips in framerate yet you complain it's 27fps and it is smoother than the other games.

Lol just because you dont notice it doesnt mean it isnt there.

It still stands, 27 fps at something like 1024x768. Which is pathetic, that isnt even HD.

http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241 for proof.

"Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot = 1024x768 (2xAA, temporal)" It doesnt even use real AA

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=30734 - 27fps average

"Clip #1: 1566 frames, 1001 dupes, 21.623fps
Clip #2: 1825 frames, 1098 dupes, 23.882fps
Clip #3: 1032 frames, 601 dupes, 25.024fps
Clip #4: 893 frames, 486 dupes, 27.310fps
Clip #5: 773 frames, 386 dupes, 30fps
Clip #6: 813 frames, 437 dupes, 27.709fps
Clip #7: 1241 frames, 628 dupes, 29.613fps
Clip #8: 727 frames, 443 dupes, 23.389fps
Clip #9: 1197 frames, 598 dupes, 30fps
Clip #10: 1113 frames, 591 dupes, 28.112fps"

The almighty PS3 can't run a game with muddy textures with 1024x768 at more than 30 fps ? LOL

[QUOTE="BudsMcGreen"][QUOTE="SemiMaster"] Are we talking about the same game here? That or you got a crummy TV. Wires were crossed with your response because you are clearly mistaken.wdave92

Are you saying it's rendered at HD resolutions and has the best textures then?

That's what I thought

No But it dosent mean squat if the game cant immerse you. Think of S.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl Has muddy textures but the game itself is highly immersive, and looks fantastic. Or how about Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Not HD, Muddy Textures but its spectacular in its own might Graphics probably the 2nd finest on the wii

MGS4 is very far from immersive. Pretty linear, stealth or shoot your way through it...5-6 hours of gameplay total if you take out custscenes...

Also you miss the point completely. We aren't saying graphics make the game at all, but when people defend it as the most beautiful game ever blah blah blah, naturally it's a counter-argument. Hell it's not even the best looking PS3 game...Uncharted raise your hand please?

Good points. But no game is without its flaws, and that's why I'm upset that GS gives 10s to games like GTA Vl and MGSVl, and then dumps on other games for the smallest reasons:evil:

No Game isnt without it's flaws is true But Metal Gear Solid 4 is probably one of the finest examples of a game coming close, I would have given that game a 9.9. But for GTA:IV I would have given it a 7.5. Of course its all opnions
