MGS4 VS. Gears2 - The best of 08' - poll

Played both, as for me..

Gameplay = pretty much equal, but i give this edge to MGS4 because it offers more styles and features compare to its predecessor thanks to octocamo.

Graphics = pretty much equal again, but maybe gears2 takes this round, but il MGS4 has the edge in character design but overall gears2 has overall best graphics.

Story = Give this to MGS4 hands down, MGS4 offers deep epic story which i found gears2 pretty much lacking. MGS4 takes the cake.

Two of my favorite games this gen, but MGS4 for me is the best experience game last year, although gears2 is pretty close. Best of both console has to offer. whats your vote?

You are comparing a Legend like MGS4 to a medicore game like Gears2.

The thing is though, Gears of War 2 made some great improvements that made me really enjoy the game where I had originally thought the original was mediocre. The storytelling was actually decent this time around. :P

this is like comparingmorrowind to thrill kill. mgs4 is vastly superior, yet still not great. extremely well-done, however. gears 2, on the other hand, is just slow, easy, and generic. i wasn't especially impressed by the graphics either, whereas MGS4 really impressed me during the last 3 acts, especially shadow moses.

GTAIV is better than both.

MGS4 is my favourite game this generation.

To be honest GoW2 bored me.. and I would argue about it having better graphics than MGS4.

I don't know how you can give gameplay to Mgs4. Your not even playing the damn game for half the running time.

Gears 2 has more exhilarating gameplay,better graphics,better online.

And yes I know story isn't Gears' strongpoint,but MGS4's has a enough bad-acting and melodrama to embarrass a daytime soap.Seriously crap.

MGS4 IMO. Gears 2 was good, but I just didn't enjoy it as much.

mgs is amazing same with Gears

Gears 2 has better graphics, gameplay and everything else except multiplayer, overall gears of war 2 disapointing compared to the first 1, mgs4 is good but too short + way long cutscenes. i would take MGO over gears of war 2 laggy multiplayer and crap matchmaking. also for me Gears 2 wasnt the best of 08, there were many more awesome games like bad company and left 4 dead

yes its better then when it came out but still not as good as the first one multiplayer wise, gears 1 mp was so much better, the maps were better, join match system was better (matchmaking sucks unless its done right like in cod4)

MGS4 of course. I never really like the gears series. I do give it credit for having a funonline componet. Still MGS4 is the best game this gen in my eyes and hasint been top.

I don't care if MGS4 has a better single player campaign, but to me I always get at least 10 times the fun when I can play co-op. Gears of War was quite awesome to play with a friend. I love co-op campaign.
